It is that time of year where the Baseball Prospectus fantasy team starts ramping up for our best-on-the-internet preseason coverage. Mike Gianella and I are firing up the rankings machines, both for 2018 and for dynasty formats. Ben Carsley and Wilson Karaman are continuously sharpening their prospect knowledge so you can make sure to grab that next big prospect (or when to buy that post-hype prospect). George Bissell is leading our podcast movement and, along with Greg Wellemeyer, Scooter Hotz and Matt Collins, giving you both the landscape of the 2018 fantasy season and deeper dives on individual players with fluctuating values so you can be better equipped to make decisions both large and small.

But here is where we need your help. We are looking for some new members for the BP fantasy team, and we plan to scour the deep corners of the internet to find the best people to supplement our current team. We’re looking for writers who are both redraft-focused and dynasty-focused. We’re looking for creative souls with diverse voices and vast experience both playing and writing about fantasy baseball. Right now, we have three different opportunities: Fantasy Editor, Staff Writer and Intern. The Fantasy Editor will help share responsibilities with Mike and myself in terms overseeing general content, along with being responsible for making sure all of our fantasy content is published correctly and on time—along with writing 1-2 articles per week and helping answer questions on the Bat Signal. Staff writers are responsible for filing approximately three articles every two weeks, helping answer the call at the Bat Signal, and writing up breaking news for Transaction Analysis articles. Interns are responsible for filing one article per week and helping out with staff posts throughout the season. We also take the responsibility of having interns very seriously, as every member of our Fantasy staff today, except for myself and Mike, started out at BP as an intern. Below you’ll see what we’re searching for in each.

Fantasy Editor

  • 3+ years of editing experience, including developing less experienced authors and organizing fantasy coverage
  • 3+ years of fantasy writing experience
  • Strong ability to manage deadlines and experience with building content via CMS
  • Knowledge of all different kinds of formats (rotisserie, head-to-head, points, dynasty, etc)
  • Previous work on rankings and valuations
  • 10+ years of experience playing fantasy baseball

Staff Writer

  • 2-3 years of consistent fantasy writing experience
  • Knowledge of all different kinds of formats (rotisserie, head-to-head, points, dynasty, etc)
  • Previous work on rankings and valuations
  • 7-10 years of experience playing fantasy baseball

Intern

  • One year of fantasy baseball writing experience
  • Tangible passion for the game and an eye for analytics
  • Ability to hit deadlines consistently

If one of these positions sounds right for you, please e-mail jobs@baseballprospectus.com and let us know why you think we should consider you for the position, along with recent samples of your work. We look forward to hearing from you, and potentially working with you!
