Willy Vasquez, INF, Tampa Bay Rays (LIDOM Orientales): 3-5, R, 3B, RBI, K.
There’s plenty of raw power in the profile for Vasquez, with the young righty producing high-end exit velocities. However, too many of those hard hit balls this past season were on the ground, making for routine plays by the opposing infield. There are some bat-to-ball skills, but Vasquez will need to rein in the aggressive approach and make better swing decisions going forward to take advantage of the pop in the bat. If he can take advantage of his time in the Dominican to make the necessary improvements, Vasquez’s stock could gain some helium in 2024.
