  • Padres SP Andrew Cashner allowed four earned runs on nine hits over six innings.
  • Padres SS Everth Cabrera went 3-for-5 with a homer, a double, a steal, four RBI and two runs scored.
  • Diamondbacks OF Gerardo Parra went 3-for-5 with two runs scored.
  • Diamondbacks SP Wade Miley was pounded for seven runs on seven hits.
(18-30) Cubs – 2 at 5 – Reds (31-18)
  • Cubs SP Travis Wood surrendered five earned runs in 5 2/3 innings in a loss.
  • Reds RP Aroldis Chapman earned his 12th save of the season.
  • Reds SP Homer Bailey pitched well giving up just two runs while striking out eight over 6 innings for the win.

  • Braves SP Kris Medlen went 6 innings stirking out nine in a no decision.
  • Mets SP Jeremy Hefner pitched well giving up just two runs while stirking out seven over 6 innings.
  • Braves got homers from 1B Freddie Freeman and 2B Dan Uggla.
  • Mets C John Buck hit his 11th bomb of the year.
  • Mets OF Marlon Byrd went 1-for-5 with an RBI and four strikeouts.
  • Braves RP Craig Kimbrel wrapped up Friday's suspended game with his 15th save of the year.
(30-18) Braves – 6 at 0 – Mets (17-29)
  • Braves SP Mike Minor tossed 7 1/3 scoreless innings while striking out ten batters and allowing only three hits. Minor also homered on the night, his 1st of the season.
  • Braves got two hits each from SS Andrelton Simmons, 1B Freddie Freeman, 3B Chris Johnson and OF Justin Upton.
  • Mets SP Dillon Gee allowed five earned runs in five innings.
(30-19) Pirates – 5 at 2 – Brewers (19-28)

  • Pirates SP Jeff Locke threw six scoreless innings to pick up his fifth win of the season.
  • Brewers RP Mike Fiers allowed four runs — including three homers — in four innings 
  • Brewers OF Carlos Gomez went 2-for-3 with two solo home runs.
  • Pirates 3B Pedro Alvarez hit two home runs and drove in three.
(31-17) Cardinals – 3 at 5 – Dodgers (20-27) 
  • Dodgers 1B Adrian Gonzalez had three hits, including his fifth homer.
  • Cardinals C Yadier Molina went 3-for-4 with an RBI.
  • Dodgers OF Matt Kemp was removed as part of a double-switch after going 0-for-3 with two strikeouts.
  • Dodgers SP Ted Lilly allowed two runs — one earned — in 5 1/3 innings in a no-decision.
(27-22) Rockies – 5 at 6 – Giants (27-22) (10 innings)
  • Giants OF Angel Pagan hit a walkoff two-run inside-the-park homer in the 10th inning.
  • Rockies RP Rafael Betancourt blew a save in the bottom of the 10th inning.
  • Giants RP Sergio Romo picked up the win in relief after allowing a run in the top half of the 10th.
  • Rockies OF Carlos Gonzalez continued his excellent season smashing his 13th homer of the year.
  • Rockies SS Troy Tulowitzki blasted his 10th bomb of the year.
  • Giants SP Barry Zito allowed four runs and seven hits over 6 innings in a no decision.

American League:

  • Rangers SP Derek Holland tossed 6.2 shutout frames while striking out ten in the win.
  • Rangers RP Joe Nathan notched his 16th save of the year.
  • Mariners SP Felix Hernandez was rocked for five runs and eleven hits over 5.2 innings in the loss.
  • Rangers OF Nelson Cruz launched his 12th homer of the year.
  • Rangers OF David Murphy continued to excel in the 2-hole going 2-for-5 with three RBI.
(27-23) Athletics – 11 at 5 – Astros (14-35)
  • Athletics 3B Josh Donaldson finished 4-for-4 with a homer and two RBI.
  • Astros C Jason Castro went 3-for-4 with two home runs.
  • Astros 3B Matt Dominguez launched two homers in the loss.
  • Athletics 1B Brandon Moss hit his 7th homer of the year.
  • Athletics SP A.J. Griffin allowed four runs in just 5.2 innings but still qualified for the win.
  • Astros SP Lucas Harrell was torched for six runs in just 1.2 innings.

  • Angels 1B Mark Trumbo had a two-run single and extended his hitting streak to a career-high ten games.
  • Angels SP Billy Buckner was a pleasant surprise, as he fired five shutout frames.
  • Royals SP Jeremy Guthrie gave up seven runs (six earned) over seven innings.
  • Angels OF Josh Hamilton launched his seventh home run of the season.
  • Royals 3B Mike Moustakas went 1-for-2 with a hit-by-pitch and a caught stealing.

  • Yankees 1B Lyle Overbay cranked a go-ahead homer in the top of the 11th inning.

  • Yankees claimed LHP David Huff off waivers from the Indians.
  • White Sox sent INF Angel Sanchez outright to Triple-A Charlotte.
  • Rangers transferred LHP Matt Harrison from the 15-day disabled list to the 60-day disabled list.
  • White Sox 2B Angel Sanchez cleared waivers and was declined when offered back to the Angels.
  • Rangers claimed OF Joe Benson off waivers from the Twins; assigned him to Double-A Frisco.
  • Yankees placed OF Curtis Granderson on the 15-day disabled list with a fractured fifth metacarpal of his left hand.
  • Yankees recalled OF Brennan Boesch from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
  • Orioles placed RHP Pedro Strop on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to May 24, with a lower back strain.
  • Blue Jays recalled RHP Thad Weber from Triple-A Buffalo.
  • Orioles recalled RHP Steve Johnson from Triple-A Norfolk.
  • Royals purchased the contract of C Adam Moore from Triple-A Omaha.

Injury Updates:

National League:

  • Nationals SP Ross Detwiler (back) threw a bullpen session Saturday and reported feeling fine.
  • Braves RP Jordan Walden (shoulder) threw a bullpen session at Citi Field on Friday.
  • Dodgers C A.J. Ellis doesn't expect to miss any time after he was involved in a home-plate collision with Jon Jay in the second inning of Friday's loss to the Cardinals.
  • Braves SP Brandon Beachy (elbow) allowed two runs over four innings in his first minor league rehab start Friday with Triple-A Gwinnett.
  • Padres OF Cameron Maybin (wrist) went 1-for-3 with a single in his first rehab game Friday with Triple-A Tucson.
  • Cardinals SP Jake Westbrook (elbow) will seek a second opinion next week, likely from Dr. James Andrews.
  • Cardinals SP Chris Carpenter (shoulder, neck) did not feel good after his latest bullpen session so the Cardinals are backing him off his current throwing program.
  • Cardinals SP John Gast left in the second inning of his start Saturday against the Dodgers due to left shoulder tightness.
  • RP J.J. Putz (elbow) has been playing catch from 90 feet and doing strengthening exercises, Diamondbacks manager Kirk Gibson said Saturday.
  • Padres SP Clayton Richard (illness) will likely be activated from the disabled list on Monday.
  • Pirates 2B Chase d'Arnaud (thumb) will move his rehab assignment Saturday to Triple-A Indianapolis.
American League:
  • The Red Sox have yet determine if RP Franklin Morales (back, pectoral) will be activated this weekend or receive one more rehab start in the minors.
  • Red Sox RP Rubby De La Rosa (intercostal) has resumed a throwing program.
  • Angels SP Tommy Hanson could return for Thursday night's game against the Dodgers.
  • Angels SP Jered Weaver (elbow) is expected to start Wednesday against the Dodgers.
  • Astros RP Josh Fields (forearm) could be activated from the disabled list in 7-10 days.
  • White Sox SP Chris Sale (shoulder) played catch on Saturday and has deemed himself ready to make his Tuesday start.
