Laird Do Well

Signed C-R Gerald Laird to a two-year deal. [11/15]
Days after losing David Ross to the Red Sox, the Braves secured their new reserve backstop. Laird is a perceptible downgrade. He does not hit as well as Ross; he does not catch-and-throw as well as Ross; he does receive high marks for his makeup; he will not cost as much as Ross. But there is something new and intriguing about Laird’s offensive game.

I noticed that Laird was one of the worst framers in the studies released last offseason. Anecdotally, he was pretty bad this year.
