To honor Canada on its special day, Baseball Prospectus has added two statistics to the custom sortable leaderboards.
True Average Minus Batting Average (TAV_MINUS_AVG) intends to provide a quick look at whether a player’s batting average is “full” or “empty.” Here are the five “fullest” batting averages, determined by this metric:
Player: TAv_Minus_Avg
Adam Dunn: .103
Jose Bautista: .079
Carlos Pena: .073
Russell Martin: .064
Trevor Plouffe: .061
And the “emptiest”:
Player: TAv_Minus_Avg
Alcides Escobar: -.049
Derek Jeter: -.039
Michael Young: -.036
Chris Heisey: -.035
Marco Scutaro: -.034
As a companion stat, we’ve also added Fielding Independent Pitching minus Earned Run Average (FIP_MINUS_ERA). As the name implies, this is a pitcher’s FIP minus his ERA. It’s supposed to provide a quick reference for how much a pitcher is over or under-pitching to his peripheral stats. Here are the largest positive gaps:
Pitcher: FIP_Minus_ERA
Jeremy Hellickson: 1.68
Brandon Beachy: 1.51
Ryan Vogelsong: 1.48
Barry Zito: 1.19
Ryan Dempster: 1.19
And the largest negative gaps:
Pitcher: FIP_Minus_ERA
Tim Lincecum: -1.93
Jake Arrieta: -1.85
Jeff Samardzija: -1.31
Max Scherzer: -1.29
Luke Hochevar: -1.27

Why are there batter value reports, but not pitcher value reports? Also, I'd like those available for batter and pitcher splits.
Can you explain the bit about being unable to customize the sortables? What browser are you using?
Example:
Select Statistics from Batter Splits by Pit-Hand
Under "Your Selections" there are a number of fields I want to eliminate, so I select them and click on the left button and nothing happens.
Likewise, I want to add BATTER to the mix, select, click on right arrow, nothing happens.
