One of the things we’re proudest of at Baseball Prospectus is that former BPers have routinely gone on to bigger and better things both within the game and outside of it. The prospect team of 2017 lost four members to scouting gigs or baseball operations positions. While turnover is always difficult, we are confident that we have restocked the cupboard with phenomenal talent—in addition to the tremendous personnel we’re retained—so as to provide our readers with the best prospect coverage possible.
To that end, I’d like to introduce you to the new (or newer) members of our team, and provide a little bit of background on who they are (in their own words), and what leagues they’ll be covering. Be sure to give them a follow on Twitter and keep up with their work all season long.

Jay Markle – Based in Grand Rapids, MI. Former lead prospect analyst for SBN’s Bless You Boys. Current high school senior taking college classes at Lake Michigan College on a full ride scholarship.
