If Hosmer is athletic enough to be an above average first baseman with a fantastic arm, why isn't he a possible corner OF (or even 3B)? Wouldn't he be at least as viable as Adam Dunn?

Any thoughts on David Lough? I've got him as a bit of sleeper. He's not super young but has good tools out in CF.

Why is Melville only a 3-star prospect? He was a projected top-10 draft pick before the season, but had a weak start to the season and was rumored to demand an very high bonus (so he fell in the draft). He recovered by the end of the year and by all accounts is the same pitcher he was at the start of last spring. Is that not worthy of 4-stars?

Was Paulo Orlando in the discussion at all? Am I just being naively optimistic in hoping that his being relatively new to the game leaves a lot of room for improvement?

What about Joe Dickerson? I believe I recall Rany saying you weren't that high on him, and this list would confirm that. What are the problems you see with him?

Orlando wasn't anywhere close to Top 10. Sure there's room for improvement, but he's also 23 years old. For a guy like Dickerson, I don't really have any big problems with him, there's just not much to love either. I think he's a 4th of at best.

The Angels are next? No love for the Twins? All the other AL central teams were done sequentially...

Kevin, good stuff. I particularly like your comments on Callaspo. Despite the fact that he seems to have some pretty huge personal issues (beat up his wife with the D-Backs and I seem to remember him having some problems last year) I have always thought he was underrated. More walks than K's at basically every level, solid contact even if he doesn't have tons of power, pretty good defensive reviews. Other than the fact that he might be a bit of a thug, what's not to like?

How is Callaspo's defese at SS? Any sense that the Royals value him as much as you and I? I think an enterprising team would try and get both Callaspo and Ka'aihue from the Royals since they have burried Kila and don't seem super high on Callaspo. I'd like to see the M's offer Jose Lopez for Callaspo, Ka'aihue, and a decent arm. I bet Moore would bite.

We know these guys are MLB starters, and that's something, but I wonder if their star has fallen with you much in the last couple of years.

Submariner Chris Hayes seems to have captured Rany's heart. Any thoughts on his chances? More generally, do you think players with unusual styles are amenable to the same statistical analysis and scouting rules of thumb that apply to everyone else? How should such players be evaluated?
