  • Phillies OF Casper Wells could miss the rest of the season due to vision issues related to Lasik surgery.
  • An X-ray on Giants C Buster Posey's right ring finger showed a small fracture.
  • Rockies OF Dexter Fowler was removed from Friday's game after aggravating his left knee injury.
  • Dodgers SP Chris Capuano was removed from Friday's start after just 1 2/3 innings due to a mild groin strain.
  • Pirates SP Wandy Rodriguez (elbow, forearm) fared well during his rehab start with Triple-A Indianapolis on Friday, allowing two runs (one earned) on three hits in his three innings of work.
  • Pirates OF Starling Marte (hand) began taking two-handed swings off a tee on Friday.
  • Dodgers OF Matt Kemp (hamsting) suffered a setback in his recovery and has been shut down "indefinitely" after experiencing renewed tightness in his right hamstring.

  • Athletics OF Josh Reddick (wrist) is scheduled to test his injured wrist with a round of batting practice on Tuesday.
  • Tigers SS Jose Iglesias (shin splints) indicated Friday that he was feeling better, but was getting an extra day of rest.
  • Blue Jays manager John Gibbons indicated Friday that time is running out for OF Colby Rasmus to return to the Blue Jays lineup before the end of the season.

  • Giants manager Bruce Bochy said Friday that he will ease off his use of left-handed specialist Jose Mijares down the stretch as he's been somewhat overused this season.
  • SP Tyler Cloyd will take Ethan Martin's spot in the Phillies' rotation.

American League:

  • The Orioles plan to use SP Jason Hammel as a reliever for the time being.
  • Astros OF Brandon Barnes was ejected from Friday's game against the A's in the sixth inning for arguing whether or not he should be awarded first base after being hit by a pitch.
  • 2B Howie Kendrick (knee) took a significant step towards returning to the Angels lineup, running the bases at 90% speed before Friday's game.
  • Mariners SP Brandon Maurer will return to the Mariners rotation next week after Taijuan Walker is shut down for the season.
