  • Rockies 2B D.J. LeMahieu finished 3-for-4 with a double, home run, walk, steal, two RBI and three runs scored.
  • Rockies OF Dexter Fowler went 3-for-4 with a double, two walks, four RBI and two runs scored.
  • Rockies SP Jhoulys Chacin allowed one run on five hits over eight innings.
  • Padres SP Edinson Volquez was pelted for eight runs over 4 1/3 innings in a loss.
(66-52) Reds - 2 at 0 - Cubs (52-66)
  • Reds SP Mat Latos struck out nine over eight scoreless innings.
  • Cubs SP Travis Wood yielded two runs and four hits over eight innings in a loss.
(53-65) Phillies - 5 at 1 - Braves (72-47)
  • Phillies SP Cole Hamels pitched his first complete game of the year, striking out nine.
  • Phillies 3B Cody Asche went 2-for-4 with a three-run homer and a stolen base.
(54-62) Mets - 2 at 4 - Dodgers (68-50)
  • Mets SP Jenrry Mejia allowed three runs -- two earned -- over six innings in a no-decision.
  • Dodgers SP Ricky Nolasco permitted two runs on seven hits and two walks over 6 1/3 frames.

American League:

(63-56) Indians - 0 at 3 - Twins (53-63)
(69-48) Tigers - 2 at 6 - White Sox (45-72)
  • White Sox SP Chris Sale went the distance allowing nine hits while striking out six.
  • White Sox 2B Jeff Keppinger went 3-for-4 with a double and two runs scored.
  • Tigers 3B Miguel Cabrera homered in a fourth straight game.
(53-64) Angels - 1 at 2 - Yankees (60-57)
  • Yankees SP Hiroki Kuroda went scoreless for eight innings while striking out seven to improve to 11-7 this season.
  • Despite retiring just two of the five batters he faced, Yankees RP David Robertson picked up a save.
  • Angels RP Garrett Richards took a complete-game loss after allowing two runs in eight innings.
  • Yankees OF Curtis Granderson went 2-for-3 and hit his third homer.
  • Angels 1B Mark Trumbo went 0-for-4 and is in a 1-for-25 slump.
(68-49) Athletics - 5 at 1 - Blue Jays (54-64)
  • Athletics 3B Alberto Callaspo finished 2-for-4 with two RBI.
  • Blue Jays RP Casey Janssen was shelled for four earned runs.
  • Blue Jays SP J.A. Happ allowed just one run over seven innings.
  • Athletics SP Dan Straily allowed one run over 7 1/3 innings.
(69-50) Rangers - 2 at 1 - Astros (37-80)
  • Rangers SP Yu Darvish struck out 15 Astros for his 12th win of the season.
  • Rangers RP Joe Nathan picked up his 35th save of the year.
Inter League:
(44-73) Marlins - 2 at 6 - Royals (62-54)
  • Royals SP Wade Davis allowed two runs in six innings to improve to 6-9 on the season.
  • Royals DH Billy Butler went 2-for-4 and hit his 11th homer.
  • Marlins 3B Ed Lucas went 0-for-4 on Monday, leaving him with a .202 average and a 23/4 K/BB ratio in 84 at-bats since the All-Star break.
(65-53) Orioles - 6 at 7 - Diamondbacks (60-57)
  • Diamondbacks RP Brad Ziegler blew his first save of the season.
  • Diamondbacks SP Wade Miley yielded four runs on seven hits over seven innings in a no-decision.
  • Orioles SP Scott Feldman allowed two runs -- one earned -- over 5 1/3 innings and struck out eight in a no-decision.
  • Diamondbacks OF Adam Eaton smacked the first walkoff home run of his career.

  • Diamondbacks recalled LHP Tyler Skaggs from Triple-A Reno.
  • Diamondbacks recalled RHP Chaz Roe from Triple-A Reno.
  • Diamondbacks placed OF Cody Ross on the 15-day disabled list with a dislocated right hip.
  • Cubs' prospect third baseman Kris Bryant has been promoted to High-A Daytona.
  • Phillies released OF Laynce Nix.
  • Pirates signed C Kelly Shoppach to a minor league contract; assigned him to Triple-A Indianapolis.
American League:
  • Indians released INF Mark Reynolds.
  • Rangers claimed INF Adam Rosales off waivers from the Athletics.
  • Twins activated OF Wilkin Ramirez from the 7-day concussion disabled list.
  • Rays optioned RHP Josh Lueke to Triple-A Durham.
  • Tigers optioned INF Hernan Perez to Triple-A Toledo.
  • Tigers activated 2B Omar Infante from the 15-day disabled list.
  • Astros purchased the contract of RHP Philip Humber from Triple-A Oklahoma City.
  • Rays acquired LHP Wesley Wright from the Astros for future cash considerations.
  • Royals activated INF Chris Getz from the 15-day disabled list.
  • Royals optioned INF Irving Falu to Triple-A Omaha.
  • Rays optioned LHP Will Smith to Triple-A Omaha.
  • Blue Jays placed LHP J.A. Happ on the bereavement list.
  • Angels optioned RHP Tommy Hanson to Triple-A Salt Lake.

National League:

  • Cardinals SP Shelby Miller (elbow) has been confirmed as the Cardinals' starter Wednesday against the Pirates.
  • Cardinals OF Carlos Beltran (foot) expects to play in Tuesday night's series-opener against the first-place Pirates.
  • Cardinals top prospect OF Oscar Taveras (ankle) is "about ready" to begin playing in rehab games.
  • Dodgers RP Brian Wilson (elbow) threw another perfect rehab inning on Sunday at Triple-A Albuquerque.
  • Dodgers OF Matt Kemp was still featuring a slight limp while doing agility drills Monday.
  • Rockies RP Rafael Betancourt (appendicitis) threw 30 pitches in a simulated game Monday.
  • Cubs SP Scott Baker (elbow) threw a bullpen session Monday.
  • Phillies SP Jonathan Pettibone (shoulder) will make a minor league rehab start Thursday with Double-A Reading.
  • Phillies 1B Ryan Howard (knee) hasn't resumed swinging a bat.
  • Phillies SP Roy Halladay (shoulder) will begin a minor league assignment Thursday with the Phillies' Gulf Coast league affiliate.
  • Braves SP Paul Maholm (wrist) threw six innings in a simulated game Monday.
  • Diamondbacks C Miguel Montero (back) is on track to begin a rehab assignment by the end of the week.
  • Diamondbacks 3B Eric Chavez (knee, hip) is expected to be activated from the disabled list on August 25, the first day he's eligible.
  • SP Trevor Cahill (hip, shoulder) will rejoin the Diamondbacks' rotation this weekend in Pittsburgh.
  • Diamondbacks 2B Willie Bloomquist (hand) is nearing a rehab assignment.
  • Diamondbacks OF Cody Ross will undergo surgery Tuesday to repair a fracture in his right hip.
  • The Dodgers could hold SS Hanley Ramirez (shoulder) out until Friday.
  • Padres OF Kyle Blanks (Achilles) won't try running until Thursday.
  • Braves RP Jordan Walden (hand) is likely a few days away from being available out of the bullpen.
American League:
  • Orioles RP Tsuyoshi Wada allowed just one run over seven innings Monday in a start with Triple-A Norfolk.
  • Blue Jays RP Dustin McGowan (oblique) is a week into his DL stint and has not been cleared for a throwing program.
  • Rangers SP Neftali Feliz (elbow) is shut down for the time being.
  • Athletics C Derek Norris (back) reported feeling better on Monday.
  • Mariners C Mike Zunino (hand) ran wind sprints on Sunday.
  • Yankees 3B Kevin Youkilis (back) said Sunday that he has not ruled out returning to the Yankees this season.
  • Yankees manager Joe Girardi acknowledged Sunday that SS Derek Jeter (calf) isn't close to returning.
  • Rangers DH Lance Berkman (hip, knee) went 1-for-4 in his second rehab game Sunday with Triple-A Round Rock.
  • Angels SP Jason Vargas (arm) will be activated from the disabled list to start Tuesday against the Yankees.
  • White Sox OF Dayan Viciedo hopes to return to the lineup in the next day or so after an MRI on his left thumb came back negative.
  • Orioles 3B Wilson Betemit (knee) is scheduled to play with High-A Frederick on Monday and Tuesday.
  • Royals 3B Mike Moustakas left Monday's game against the Marlins with tightness in his left calf.
  • Red Sox OF Ryan Kalish (shoulder) will undergo cervical fusion surgery on his back Tuesday.
  • Orioles SP Jason Hammel said Monday that he thinks the cortisone injection he was given Friday has helped relieve some of the tightness in his right forearm.
Notes and Rumors

National League:
  • OF Andrew Lambo will join the Pirates' active roster before Tuesday night's series-opener in St. Louis.
  • Braves manager Fredi Gonzalez said Monday that the team doesn't have a strict innings limit for SP Julio Teheran.
