  • Diamondbacks 3B Martin Prado went 4-for-4 with two doubles.
  • Padres SP Jason Marquis was knocked around for four earned runs on seven hits over just 3 1/3 innings in his start.
  • Diamondbacks SP Patrick Corbin gave up three earned runs on seven hits over six innings.
  • Padres OF Carlos Quentin hit his 5th homer of the season.
  • Diamondbacks 3B Eric Chavez blasted his 7th homer of the year.
(19-30) Cubs - 5 at 4 - Reds (31-19) (10 innings)
  • Reds SP Johnny Cueto was dealt a tough-luck no-decision, tossing seven innings of one-run ball in a loss.
  • Cubs SP Matt Garza escaped with a no-decision despite a poor effort, as he allowed four runs on four hits and four walks over four frames.
  • Cubs OF Alfonso Soriano singled and ripped a two-run homer.
  • Cubs RP Kevin Gregg earned the win by tossing 1 1/3 scoreless innings.
(30-19) Braves - 2 at 4 - Mets (17-29)
  • Braves 2B Dan Uggla went 1-for-2 with a two-run homer.
  • Braves C Gerald Laird went 1-for-3 in a rare start.
  • Mets 1B Ike Davis went 2-for-3 with a walk and drove in the game-winning runs.
  • Mets SP Shaun Marcum was charged with two earned runs on four hits and had a career-high 12 strikeouts over seven innings.
  • Braves SP Julio Teheran allowed one run on five hits over 6 2/3 innings.
(31-19) Pirates - 5 at 4 - Brewers (19-29)
(32-17) Cardinals - 5 at 3 - Dodgers (20-28) 
  • Cardinals SS Pete Kozma went 4-for-4 with three doubles.
  • Cardinals SP Shelby Miller gave up three runs on seven hits over 5 1/3 innings.
  • Dodgers SP Clayton Kershaw was charged with his third loss of the season after giving up four runs over seven innings.
  • Cardinals RP Edward Mujica captured his 14th save with a scoreless 9th.
  • Dodgers 1B Adrian Gonzalez hit his 6th homer of the season.
(27-23) Rockies - 3 at 7 - Giants (28-22) 
  • Rockies OF Michael Cuddyer went 1-for-2 with an RBI double before leaving with an injury.
  • Rockies SP Jon Garland surrendered five runs (two earned) on seven hits over five innings for his sixth loss of the season.
  • Giants SP Matt Cain allowed two runs over five innings for the win.
  • Giants C Buster Posey went 2-for-4 while hitting his 7th homer of the year.
  • Giants got two hits each from 2B Marco Scutaro, OF Andres Torres and OF Hunter Pence.
  • Rockies OF Dexter Fowler went 2-for-3 with an run scored, two walks and a stolen base.

American League:

(32-18) Rangers - 3 at 4 - Mariners (21-29)
  • Rangers SP Nick Tepesch allowed two runs on five hits and had six strikeouts over 5 2/3 innings in his start.
  • Batting in the leadoff spot, Rangers 2B Jurickson Profar hit his first home run of the season.
  • Mariners OF Jason Bay went 2-for-3 and hit a walkoff single in the 13th inning.
  • Mariners SP Hisashi Iwakuma gave up just two runs on five hits over eight innings.
(28-23) Athletics - 6 at 2 - Astros (14-36)
  • Athletics SP Bartolo Colon tossed seven scoreless innings and struck out nine in the win.
  • Astros SP Dallas Keuchel went 6 innings allowing four runs and nine hits in the loss.
  • Athletics 1B Nate Freiman went 2-for-3 with a homer, three RBI's, two runs scored and a walk.
  • Athletics got two hits each from OF Yoenis Cespedes and 3B Josh Donaldson.
  • Athletics OF Coco Crisp went 1-for-4 with and RBI, run scored and a stolen base, his 10th of the year.
  • Astros C Jason Castro stayed red hot going 4-for-4 with a run scored in the loss.
(23-27) Angels - 5 at 2 - Royals (21-26)
(30-19) Yankees - 3 at 8 - Rays (25-24) 
  • Rays SP Alex Cobb allowed two earned runs over 8 1/3 innings for the win.
  • Yankees SP CC Sabathia surrendered seven earned runs in seven innings in the loss.
  • Rays got homers from OF Sean Rodriguez and 1B James Loney.
  • Rays SS Yunel Escobar went 2-for-4 with two runs scored and an RBI.
  • Yankees 3B David Adams knocked in a pair with a double in the 9th inning.
(27-22) Indians - 5 at 6 - Red Sox (31-20)
  • Red Sox OF Jacoby Ellsbury hit a walkoff two-run double.
  • Red Sox got RBI's from 1B Mike Napoli, C Jarrod Saltalamacchia and 3B Jose Iglesias.
  • Red Sox SP Felix Doubront allowed two runs and five hits over 6 innings in a no decision.
  • Indians SP Corey Kluber allowed just one run and three hits over 6.2 innings while striking out ten in a no decision.
  • Indians RP Chris Perez was rocked giving up four runs in just 0.2 innings for the loss.
  • Indians 2B Jason Kipnis went 2-for-4 with a homer and three runs scored.
  • Indians 1B Nick Swisher hit his 7th homer of the year.
(19-28) Twins - 1 at 6 - Tigers (28-20)
  • Tigers SP Max Scherzer struck out six while tossing six innings of one-run ball.
  • Twins SP Mike Pelfrey allowed five runs on five hits and three walks over 5 2/3 innings.
  • Tigers OF Torii Hunter belted a solo homer, his 2nd of the year.
  • Tigers OF Avisail Garcia blasted a pinch hit three RBI triple in the 6th inning.
(27-23) Orioles - 5 at 6 - Blue Jays (21-29)
  • Blue Jays SP Chad Jenkins allowed eight hits and three walks but only two runs over five innings while taking a no-decision.
  • Orioles RP Jim Johnson had another meltdown, coughing up a three-run lead in a loss and has now blown his last four out of five save attempts.
  • Orioles SP Miguel Gonzalez deserved a win but got a no-decision, allowing one run over 5 2/3 innings.
  • Blue Jays SS Munenori Kawasaki had three hits, including the game-winning two-run double.
  • Orioles OF Adam Jones went 3-for-5 with a solo homer while scoring a pair of runs.
Inter League:
 
(13-37) Marlins - 3 at 5 - White Sox (24-24) 
  • White Sox DH Adam Dunn hit his 12 homer of the year.
  • White Sox OF Alejandro De Aza went 2-for-4 with two RBI and a run scored.
  • White Sox RP Addison Reed earned his 17th save of the season.
  • White Sox SP Dylan Axelrod went 5.1 innings allowing three runs for the win.
  • Marlins SP Alex Sanabia allowed four runs over four innings in the loss.
  • Marlins got two hits each from OF Marcell Ozuna, OF Justin Ruggiano and 3B Nick Green.
Player Transactions:

National League:
  • Cardinals placed LHP John Gast on the 15-day disabled list with a left shoulder strain.
  • Cardinals recalled RHP Michael Blazek from Double-A Springfield.
  • Reds RP Jose Arredondo has been suspended at Triple-A Louisville for violating team rules.
  • Brewers transferred RHP Mark Rogers from the 15-day disabled list to the 60-day disabled list.
  • Brewers purchased the contract of RHP Donovan Hand from Triple-A Nashville.
  • Phillies activated RHP Mike Adams from the 15-day disabled list.
  • The Giants will call up SP Mike Kickham from Triple-A Fresno to start Tuesday against the Athletics.
  • Marlins SP Alex Sanabia is expected to be placed on the disabled list with a right groin strain.
  • Nationals placed LHP Ross Detwiler on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to May 16, with an oblique injury.
American League:
  • Yankees designated OF Ben Francisco for assignment.
  • Angels activated RHP Kevin Jepsen from the 15-day disabled list.
  • Angels designated RHP Billy Buckner for assignment.
  • Twins placed OF Wilkin Ramirez (concussion) on the 7-day disabled list.
Injury Updates:

National League:

  • Giants RP Santiago Casilla will undergo surgery this week to have a cyst removed from his right knee.
  • Dodgers OF Scott Van Slyke is dealing with neck whiplash as a result of a diving catch attempt in Saturday's game.
  • Nationals 2B Danny Espinosa (wrist) hopes to return to the lineup on Tuesday or Wednesday.
  • Marlins SP Kevin Slowey (lat) said he's a "go" for his scheduled start Tuesday after completing a bullpen session Saturday with no issues.
  • Nationals C Wilson Ramos (hamstring) could be on the disabled list for six weeks.
  • Brewers SP Kyle Lohse's (elbow) scheduled start on Thursday is now listed by the Brewers as "to be announced."
  • Reds OF Ryan Ludwick (shoulder) said Saturday that he'll be sidelined until "at least the middle of August."
  • Phillies C Carlos Ruiz (hamstring) said Saturday that he's "feeling better each day."
  • Mets RP Scott Atchison (elbow) threw a perfect inning Saturday in his first rehab game with High-A St. Lucie.
  • Dodgers C A.J. Ellis will have his left wrist examined after he was hit by a pitch in the sixth inning of Sunday's loss to the Cardinals.
  • Cubs RP Kyuji Fujikawa was removed from Sunday's game against the Reds with a right forearm strain.
American League:
  • Twins 3B Trevor Plouffe (concussion) is expected to be activated from the disabled list on Wednesday, the first day he's eligible.
  • Yankees SS Eduardo Nunez will be shut down for a few days after experiencing soreness in his rib cage while taking batting practice Saturday.
  • Tigers OF Lynn Henning of the Detroit News writes that it "could be a while" before Austin Jackson (hamstring) is activated from the disabled list.
  • Red Sox manager John Farrell said the club is leaning towards activating RP Franklin Morales (back, pectoral) from the disabled list on Tuesday.
  • Rays SP David Price (triceps) has yet to resume throwing and will likely be sidelined at least until mid- to late-June.
  • Yankees SP Andy Pettitte (trapezius) threw a successful bullpen session Saturday.
  • Yankees RP David Phelps (forearm) said Saturday that he'll be "good to go" for his next start.
  • Yankees 3B Kevin Youkilis (back) could begin on a rehab assignment as early as Wednesday.
  • Orioles RP Tsuyoshi Wada (elbow) allowed three runs on four hits over five innings Sunday in his third rehab start at Triple-A Norfolk.
Notes and Rumors:

National League:
  • Diamondbacks SP Ian Kennedy has been scratched from Monday's start due to a cut on his right index finger.
  • Diamondbacks SP Tyler Skaggs will be called up to start the first game of Monday's doubleheader against the Rangers.
  • Giants assistant general manager Bobby Evans said Sunday that the club with decide between Chris Heston, Shane Loux and Mike Kickham on who will take SP Ryan Vogelsong's spot in the rotation.
  • Mets manager Terry Collins wondered aloud Saturday if it was time to option 1B Ike Davis to Triple-A Las Vegas.
  • Brewers manager Ron Roenicke indicated Saturday that he would prefer not to use RP John Axford at closer while Jim Henderson (hamstring) is out.
American League:
  • Rangers RP Martin Perez will start the first game of Monday's doubleheader against the Diamondbacks.
  • The White Sox have moved RP Hector Santiago back to the bullpen.
  • Blue Jays RP Esmil Rogers will start Wednesday against the Braves.
  • Red Sox SP Clay Buchholz has been scratched from his start Monday against the Phillies.
