  • Cardinals SP Lance Lynn improved to 6-1 after allowing three runs and four hits in seven innings.
  • Cardinals OF Matt Holliday went 2-for-4 and hit a two-run homer.
  • Mets 2B Daniel Murphy went 3-for-4 with a two-run double.
  • Mets C John Buck went a seventh straight game without an RBI, finishing 0-for-3 with three strikeouts and a walk.
(16-20) Brewers - 5 at 1 - Pirates (21-17)
  • Working on seven days' rest, Brewers SP Marco Estrada allowed one run and three hits over seven innings to earn his third win.
  • Brewers OF Norichika Aoki finished 3-for-5 with two doubles, three RBI and two steals.
  • Brewers SS Jean Segura went 3-for-5 with an RBI and three steals.
  • Pirates SP A.J. Burnett went 7 innings giving up three earned runs and seven hits in the loss.
(20-18) Rockies - 1 at 9 - Cubs (16-22)
(20-17) Nationals - 6 at 2 - Dodgers (15-21)
  • Nationals SP Jordan Zimmermann pitched 7.2 innings for the win allowing just two earned runs.
  • Dodgers SP Josh Beckett lasted 3 innings giving up two runs and three hits while taking the loss.
  • Nationals 3B Ryan Zimmerman knocked in three while 1B Adam LaRoche knocked in two.
(22-16) Braves - 10 at 1 - Diamondbacks (21-18)
  • In his return to Arizona, Braves OF Justin Upton launched his MLB-leading 13th homer while driving in two.
  • Diamondbacks SP Wade Miley wore down in the desert, surrendering seven runs in the fifth and sixth innings.
  • Braves SP Mike Minor picked up the win giving up just one run over 6.2 innings.
  • Braves got homers from 3B Chris Johnson and C Brian McCann.
  • Arizona 1B Paul Goldschmidt nailed his 10th homer of the year while driving in his 31 run, which is tied for the National League lead.

American League:

(10-29) Astros - 2 at 7 - Tigers (21-15)
  • Tigers SP Anibal Sanchez allowed two runs in seven innings and striking out eight for the win.
  • Tigers OF Andy Dirks went 3-for-4 and hit his first career grand slam.
  • Tigers DH Victor Martinez hit a two-run homer off Bud Norris.
  • Astros SP Bud Norris was lit up for seven earned runs and nine hits over 5 innings.
(15-21) White Sox - 3 at 10 - Twins (18-17)
  • Twins SP Pedro Hernandez recorded a win by surrendering three runs in 5 1/3 innings.
  • White Sox RP Hector Santiago took a loss after allowing six runs -- three earned -- in 5 2/3 innings.
  • Twins 1B Justin Morneau drove in four runs with three hits, two of them doubles.
  • Twins OF Aaron Hicks hit his second and third homers off Hector Santiago.
  • White Sox SS Alexei Ramirez went 3-for-5 with a double and a run scored.
(18-16) Royals - 11 at 4 - Angels (14-23) 
(23-14) Yankees - 0 at 1 - Indians (21-15) Game 1
  • Indians SP Justin Masterson hurled a brilliant four-hit shutout in the first half of a doubleheader.
  • Yankees SP David Phelps yielded just one earned run over 6 2/3 innings but took the loss.
  • Indians 2B Jason Kipnis hit his fifth home run.
  • Yankees OF Ichiro Suzuki went 0-for-4 with a strikeout.
(24-14) Yankees - 7 at 0 - Indians (21-16) Game 2
  • Yankees SP Vidal Nuno pitched well in a spot start appearance shutting out the Indians over 5 innings for the win.
  • Indians SP Trevor Bauer was solid in his spot start allowing two earned runs and six hits over 6.1 innings in a loss.
  • Yankees OF Vernon Wells went 2-for-4 with two RBI and a run scored.
  • Yankees 1B Lyle Overbay drove in two RBI and scored a run.
(24-14) Rangers - 1 at 5 - Athletics (20-20)
  • Athletics 1B Brandon Moss went 1-for-3 with a walk and a home run.
  • Athletics OF Yoenis Cespedes hit his 7th homer of the year.
  • Rangers SP Justin Grimm was bombed for five earned runs over five innings in his second consecutive start.
  • Athletics SP A.J. Griffin stuck out eight in firing seven innings of one-run ball for the win.
  • Rangers 1B Mitch Moreland smacked his 7th dinger of the year.

  • Mets signed OF Rick Ankiel to a one-year contract.
  • Mets optioned OF Andrew Brown to Triple-A Las Vegas.
  • Pirates activated 2B Neil Walker from the 15-day disabled list.

  • Nationals OF Bryce Harper received 11 stitches as the result of running in the fence on Monday night, but did not suffer a concussion.
  • Braves OF B.J. Upton left Monday's game against the Diamondbacks with a left shoulder contusion.
  • Dodgers 3B Jerry Hairston Jr. (groin) could begin a rehab assignment this weekend.
  • Dodgers 2B Mark Ellis (quad) could begin a rehab assignment as soon as this weekend.
  • Dodgers SP Ted Lilly (rib cage) is likely to begin a rehab assignment this week.
  • Nationals OF Jayson Werth (hamstring) is expected to begin a rehab assignment with High-A Potomac later this week.
  • Pirates SP Jeff Karstens (shoulder) is slated to throw 50 pitches over three innings in a rehab start with High-A Bradenton on Monday.
  • There remains no timetable for Pirates SP James McDonald's (shoulder) return.
  • Diamondbacks 2B Aaron Hill was not cleared to resume activities Monday after a doctor determined that his left hand had not healed sufficiently.
  • Cubs SP Matt Garza (lat) could rejoin the Cubs' rotation after Thursday's rehab start with Triple-A Iowa.
  • Braves OF Jason Heyward (appendectomy) could be activated from the disabled list on Friday.
  • Dodgers manager Don Mattingly said the club is undecided on where SP Zack Greinke (collarbone) will start on Wednesday.
  • Mets RP Frank Francisco has been diagnosed with a mild strain of the flexor pronator in his right elbow.
  • Braves RP Jonny Venters (elbow) will visit Dr. James Andrews on Thursday.
  • Rockies OF Michael Cuddyer will receive an epidural injection for his neck issue.
  • A source told Andy Martino of the New York Daily News that Mets SP Jon Niese has been pitching through a neck injury.
  • Dodgers RP Scott Elbert (elbow) is scheduled to make another rehab appearance Monday at High-A Rancho Cucamonga.
American League:
  • Angels OF Josh Hamilton left Monday's game in the seventh inning complaining of lightheadedness.
  • Athletics OF Yoenis Cespedes left Monday's game against the Rangers with a stomach illness.
  • Angels RP Sean Burnett (forearm) is expected to resume throwing from a mound later this week.
  • Astros SP Bud Norris (back) will be re-evaluated Tuesday before the Astros determine whether he'll have to miss a start.
  • Astros 2B Jose Altuve (jaw) told Astros manager Bo Porter that he would be ready to play on Tuesday.
  • Athletics OF Chris Young felt some soreness in his left quad during an extended spring training game and is unlikely to be activated on Wednesday as originally hoped
  • Athletics OF Coco Crisp (hamstring) had a great day of running Monday and could be activated from the disabled list on Wednesday.
  • Angels manager Mike Scioscia said SS Erick Aybar (hamstring) will be back in the lineup on Tuesday.
  • White Sox 2B Gordon Beckham (hand) will begin taking batting practice on Wednesday or Thursday.
  • Rangers SP Colby Lewis (elbow, triceps) has been given an anti-inflammatory injection and hopes to resume his rehab assignment early next week.
  • White Sox manager Robin Ventura confirmed that SP John Danks (shoulder) will make at least one more rehab start.
  • Athletics SP Brett Anderson said he had no issues with his right ankle during a rehab start with Double-A Midland on Sunday.
  • Athletics OF Josh Reddick admitted Monday that it's possible he'll need surgery on his ailing right wrist.
  • Orioles executive vice president Dan Duquette said Monday that SP Wei-Yin Chen (oblique) will likely be placed on the disabled list.
  • Yankees OF Curtis Granderson (forearm) will play a fifth rehab game Monday night with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
  • Orioles RP Tsuyoshi Wada (elbow) is scheduled to make his first minor league rehab start Thursday with Triple-A Norfolk.
  • Red Sox OF Shane Victorino (ribs) has been cleared to return to the Red Sox lineup on Tuesday against the Rays.
