  • Padres SP Eric Stults allowed one run in 6 1/3 innings to pick up a win and move to 3-2 on the season.
  • Padres OF Will Venable went 2-for-4 with a homer and three RBI.
  • Marlins SP Alex Sanabia gave up nine hits and three runs over 4.1 innings for the loss.
  • Padres 1B Yonder Alonso went 2-for-3 with an RBI, run scored and a stolen base.
  • Padres RP Luke Gregerson picked up his 8th hold of the year while lowering his ERA to 1.10.
(19-13) Braves - 4 at 5 - Reds (19-15)
  • Reds OF Shin-Soo Choo hit a walk-off home run in the bottom of the ninth inning.
  • Braves RP Craig Kimbrel blew his third save of the season, allowing two solo home runs.
  • Braves SP Kris Medlen allowed two runs in seven innings, but he failed to get the win.
  • Braves C Brian McCann hit a two-run single, his first hit of the year, in the first inning.
  • Reds SP Homer Bailey allowed four runs over five innings but took a no-decision.
(18-15) Diamondbacks - 5 at 3 - Dodgers (13-19)
  • Diamondbacks SP Brandon McCarthy yielded eight hits and three runs over 6.1 innings in a no decision.
  • Dodgers SP Josh Beckett allowed nine hits and three runs over six innings in a no decision.
  • Dodgers RP Brandon League suffered a loss in relief giving up two runs in the 9th.
  • Filling in for RP J.J. Putz who left the game with an injury, Diamondbacks RP Heath Bell tallied his 2nd save of the year.
  • Diamondbacks 1B Paul Goldschmidt blasted his 10th homer of the year.
  • Dodgers 2B Nick Punto hit his 1st homer of the year and also smashed a double.
(16-18) Phillies - 6 at 2 - Giants (19-14)
  • Phillies SP Kyle Kendrick yielded two runs in seven innings and struck out six in a win.
  • Giants SP Tim Lincecum took a loss to the Phillies after allowing five runs in seven innings.
  • Phillies 2B Chase Utley finished 3-for-5 with a homer and two RBI.
  • Phillies 1B Ryan Howard homered, singled in a run and walked twice.
(20-12) Cardinals - 1 at 2 - Cubs (13-20)
  • Cubs SP Travis Wood allowed one run over 6 2/3 innings.
  • Cubs RP Kevin Gregg tallied his fifth save of the season.
  • Cardinals 1B Allen Craig hit his second home run of the season.
  • Cardinals SP Lance Lynn allowed two earned runs over seven innings.

American League:

(17-12) Royals - 3 at 4 - Orioles (18-11)
  • Orioles C Matt Wieters drove in three runs, including the game-winning run in the eighth inning.
  • Royals OF Alex Gordon went 2-for-4 with a home run.
  • Orioles SP Wei-Yin Chen went 6 1/3 innings allowing just two runs but took a no-decision.
  • Royals SP Ervin Santana earned a quality start, but took a no-decision, allowing three runs over six innings.
(18-16) Athletics - 0 at 1 - Indians (20-13)
  • Indians SP Zach McAllister continued his strong start to the season, spinning 7 2/3 scoreless frames.
  • Indians RP Chris Perez nailed down his fourth save of the season with a scoreless inning.
  • Athletics SP Tommy Milone didn't deserve a loss but got one anyway, allowing just an unearned run over seven innings.
  • Indians 2B Jason Kipnis went 2-for-4 at the plate.
(14-15) Twins - 6 at 1 - Red Sox (21-12)
  • Twins SP Scott Diamond pitched seven scoreless innings.
  • Red Sox C Jarrod Saltalamacchia hit his fourth home run of the year.
  • Twins DH Ryan Doumit went 2-for-4 with his first home run of the season.
  • Red Sox SP Ryan Dempster struck out eight while allowing four runs -- two earned -- over seven-plus innings, but he took the loss.
(13-21) Blue Jays - 6 at 4 - Rays (14-18)
  • Blue Jays RP Casey Janssen earned his ninth save in nine tries, pitching a perfect ninth inning to preserve a win.
  • Rays OF Desmond Jennings went 2-for-5 with an RBI triple.
  • Blue Jays OF Melky Cabrera went 3-for-5 with two doubles.
  • Rays SP Roberto Hernandez allowed just one run over six innings but took a no-decision.
(11-21) Angels - 6 at 7 - Astros (9-24)
  • Astros 2B Jose Altuve went 2-for-3 with a home run and two runs scored.
  • Angels 1B Mark Trumbo hit his ninth home run of the year, a three-run shot in the first inning.
  • Astros OF Robbie Grossman stole his first two bases of the season.
  • Angels SP C.J. Wilson allowed seven runs -- two earned -- in 6 1/3 innings.
  • Astros SP Jordan Lyles earned his first win of the season, allowing three runs in five innings.
Inter League:
 
(20-13) Rangers - 3 at 6 - Brewers (15-16)
  • Brewers RP Jim Henderson earned his seventh save of the season.
  • Brewers 3B Yuniesky Betancourt slugged his eighth home run of the season.
  • Brewers SP Wily Peralta limited the Rangers to three runs -- two earned -- over six innings.
  • Rangers SP Justin Grimm was shelled for five earned runs in five innings.
(15-19) Mariners - 1 at 4 - Pirates (18-14)
  • Making a spot start in place of the injured James McDonald, SP Jeanmar Gomez tossed five shutout innings to earn the win.
  • Mariners SP Aaron Harang allowed two runs over six innings, but was tagged with the loss.
  • Pirates OF Andrew McCutchen went 4-for-4 with an RBI, a run scored and a stolen base.
  • Pirates RP Jason Grilli notched his 13th save of the year with a perfect 9th inning.
  • Pirates OF Garrett Jones hit his 4th bomb of the season.
(13-18) White Sox - 0 at 1 - Mets (13-16) (10 Innings)
  • Mets SP Matt Harvey allowed just one hit while striking out 12, but he took a no-decision.
  • OF Mike Baxter delivered a pinch-hit single to lead the Mets to victory.
  • Mets RP Bobby Parnell pitched a perfect 10th inning to earn the win.
  • White Sox SP Hector Santiago threw seven scoreless innings.
(18-13) Yankees - 0 at 2 - Rockies (19-13)
  • Yankees SP Hiroki Kuroda allowed seven hits and two earned runs over 7 innings in a tough luck loss.
  • Rockies SP Jorge De La Rosa was great giving up just three hits over 6 shutout innings for the win.
  • Rockies OF Carlos Gonzalez blasted his 7th homer of the year.
  • Rockies 2B Josh Rutledge went 3-for-4 with a run scored.
  • Rockies RP Rafael Betancourt tallied his 9th save of the year.

  • Pirates placed RHP James McDonald on the 15-day disabled list with right shoulder discomfort.
  • Cardinals activated 1B Matt Adams from the 15-day disabled list.
  • Marlins transferred RHP Henderson Alvarez from the 15-day disabled list to the 60-day disabled list.
  • Marlins purchased the contract of INF Nick Green from Triple-A New Orleans.
  • Marlins placed 2B Donovan Solano on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to May 4, with a strained left intercostal muscle.
  • Pirates recalled INF Josh Harrison from Triple-A Indianapolis.
  • Giants optioned RHP Jean Machi to Triple-A Fresno.
  • Giants activated LHP Jose Mijares from the restricted list.
  • Dodgers placed INF/OF Jerry Hairston Jr. on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to May 6, with a left groin strain.
  • Dodgers recalled INF/OF Elian Herrera from Triple-A Albuquerque.

  • White Sox claimed 1B Michael McDade off waivers from the Indians; optioned him to Triple-A Charlotte.
  • Indians sent OF Ezequiel Carrera outright to Triple-A Columbus.
  • Blue Jays released RHP Trystan Magnuson.
  • Rangers 1B Mike Olt has been placed on Triple-A Round Rock's disabled list with an eye issue.
  • Angels activated RHP Mark Lowe from the 15-day disabled list.

  • Pirates 2B Neil Walker (hand) is scheduled to begin a rehab assignment Thursday with Double-A Altoona.
  • Cardinals RP Jason Motte underwent successful Tommy John surgery on his right elbow Tuesday in St. Louis.
  • Padres prospect right-hander Adys Portillo (triceps, lat) is likely a couple of weeks away from game action.
  • Marlins C Jeff Mathis (collarbone) will continue his rehab assignment Tuesday with Double-A Tennessee.
  • Marlins 1B Logan Morrison (knee) will begin playing in extended spring training games Tuesday.
  • Dodgers RP Scott Elbert (elbow) threw a bullpen session Tuesday.
  • Marlins SS Chris Valaika left Tuesday's game in the eighth inning with an apparent wrist injury.
  • Padres 2B Logan Forsythe (foot) will try jogging Wednesday for the first time since landing on the disabled list.
  • Dodgers RP Scott Elbert (elbow) will begin a rehab assignment on Friday.
  • Diamondbacks RP J.J. Putz left Tuesday's game in the ninth inning with an apparent right hand injury.

  • White Sox 2B Gordon Beckham (hand) is aiming to begin a minor league rehab assignment by the end of next week.
  • Orioles 2B Brian Roberts will visit a specialist on Wednesday in Dallas for an examination of his injured right knee.
  • Astros OF Justin Maxwell had the protective cast removed from his fractured left hand on Tuesday afternoon.
  • Blue Jays SP Dustin McGowan (shoulder) is expected to begin appearing in minor league rehab games next week.
  • Blue Jays RP Sergio Santos (elbow) is expected to pitch in an extended spring training game on Thursday.
  • Orioles SP Miguel Gonzalez (thumb) will have his next start pushed back to Friday or Saturday.
  • Yankees SP Ivan Nova (triceps) will pitch two innings in extended spring training Wednesday.
  • Yankees C Francisco Cervelli will have the stitches removed from his right hand Tuesday.
  • Indians manager Terry Francona said Monday that SP Brett Myers (elbow) is progressing "very well" in his rehab.
  • Athletics SP Jarrod Parker (neck) is uncertain to make his next scheduled start.
  • Angels RP Ryan Madson (elbow) will face live hitters Thursday.
  • Angels RP Sean Burnett (forearm) will be shut down from throwing for a week.
  • Angels SP Jered Weaver (elbow) is scheduled to throw a bullpen session on Thursday.
