  • Dodgers SP Chad Billingsley earned a win in his season debut after allowing one run in six innings against the Padres.

  • Dodgers RP Brandon League recorded his third save despite allowing two runs -- one earned -- in the ninth against the Padres.

  • Padres C Nick Hundley went 4-for-4 to up his average to .318.

  • Dodgers OF Carl Crawford homered, tripled and walked against the Padres.

  • OF Domonic Brown hit a massive three-run homer to help the Philllies defeat the Mets 7-3.

  • SP Jeremy Hefner allowed five runs over three innings in the Mets' loss to the Phillies.

  • SP Kyle Kendrick allowed two runs over six innings as the Phillies defeated the Mets.

  • 3B Juan Francisco went 3-for-4 with a towering home run in the Braves' 8-0 victory over the Marlins.

  • SP Alex Sanabia allowed six runs in five innings as the Marlins lost to the Braves.

  • SP Mike Minor held the Marlins scoreless over 5 2/3 innings in the Braves' win.

  • OF Bryce Harper went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in the Nationals' 5-2 win over the White Sox.

  • Nationals SS Ian Desmond went 3-4 with 2 runs scored against the White Sox.
  • SP Jordan Zimmermann pitched seven innings and allowed two runs in the Nationals' victory over the White Sox.

  • SP Barry Zito blanked the Rockies for seven innings and went 2-for-3 at the plate in the Giants' 10-0 win.

  • Rockies SP Jeff Francis was pulled after giving up seven runs -- four earned -- in 1 2/3 innings against the Giants.

  • After getting Tuesday off, Giants C Buster Posey went 3-for-5 with a triple and three RBI against the Rockies.

  • Braves C Evan Gattis continued to mash early in the season going 2-4 with a three run homer against the Marlins.
  • Braves OF Jordan Schafer had a big night filling in for B.J. Upton in CF going 4-5 with two runs scored and a stolen base.
  • Rockies 2B Josh Rutledge went 0-for-4 in a loss to the Giants, dropping his OBP to .235.

  • Mets OF Lucas Duda went 3-4 with two solo homers in a loss to the Phillies.
  • OF A.J. Pollock homered twice, doubled and knocked in four runs in the Diamondbacks 10-2 win over the Pirates.

  • Diamondbacks SP Wade Miley picked up a win after allowing two runs in 6 2/3 innings versus the Pirates.

  • Pirates SP Jonathan Sanchez was torched for nine runs in 3 2/3 innings by the Diamondbacks.

  • Pirates SS Clint Barmes went 0-for-4, leaving him 2-for-23 this season.

  • Cardinals SP Jake Westbrook recorded his first shutout since 2006 in a 10-0 win over the Reds.

  • Reds SP Homer Bailey was tagged for seven runs in five-plus innings by the Cardinals.

  • Cardinals 2B/3B Matt Carpenter went 4-for-5 with a homer, a double and two RBI against the Reds.

  • Giants OF Andres Torres had a nice day at the plate going 3-5 with two RBI and a run scored in a win over the Rockies.
  • Cardinals 1B Matt Adams had a two-run homer and an RBI double versus the Reds.

  • Reds OF Chris Heisey went 0-for-4 and grounded into a double play against the Cardinals.

American League:

  • Angels 1B Albert Pujols had a 4-for-4 night in a losing cause against the A's.
  • Astros SP Brad Peacock recorded his first major league victory after allowing three runs in five-plus innings against the Mariners.

  • A's 1B Brandon Moss went 3-4 with a homer, five RBI, two runs and two walks in a win over the Angels.
  • Mariners SP Blake Beavan surrendered five runs -- four earned -- in 5 2/3 innings in a loss to the Astros.

  • Astros DH Carlos Pena went 3-for-5 with a couple of doubles versus the Mariners.

  • Astros OF Chris Carter had another big night going 3-5 and belting his third home run in two games.
  • A's OF/DH Seth Smith went 3-4 with two RBI and a walk against the Angels.
  • Mariners C Kelly Shoppach went 3-for-3 with a solo homer, an RBI double and a walk versus the Astros.

  • Red Sox C Jarrod Saltalamacchia had a big night going 3-4 with a homer, two doubles and two RBI in a loss to the Orioles.
  • RP Kelvin Herrera earned his second save of the season in closing out the Royals' 3-0 win over the Twins.

  • Twins SP Liam Hendriks allowed one run in five innings but took the loss against the Royals.

  • SP Wade Davis threw five scoreless innings in the Royals' win over the Twins.

  • Red Sox RP Joel Hanrahan blew his first save of the season, allowing five runs in just 2/3 of an inning against the Orioles.

  • 3B Manny Machado capped off a five-run ninth inning with a three-run homer as the Orioles defeated the Red Sox 8-5.

  • Red Sox SP Ryan Dempster allowed three runs -- one earned -- in five innings in a loss to the Orioles.

  • SP Jake Arrieta allowed three runs over five innings in the Orioles' win over the Red Sox.

  • SP Gavin Floyd allowed five runs in 5 1/3 innings as the White Sox lost to the Nationals.

  • C J.P. Arencibia went 2-for-5 and delivered a go-ahead three-run double in the seventh as the Blue Jays beat the Tigers 8-6.

  • Blue Jays SP Mark Buehrle surrendered six runs -- five earned -- in 4 1/3 innings in a no-decision against the Tigers.

  • Tigers SP Rick Porcello yielded four runs in five-plus innings against the Blue Jays.

  • Tigers RP Brayan Villarreal walked all three batters he faced and was charged with three runs against the Blue Jays.

  • Blue Jays 1B Edwin Encarnacion doubled twice, walked and scored twice against the Tigers.

  • SP Matt Moore limited the Rangers to one hit over 5 1/3 innings in the Rays' 2-0 victory.

  • Rays RP Fernando Rodney picked up his first save by pitching a scoreless ninth against the Rangers.

  • Rangers SP Derek Holland yielded two runs and five hits in eight innings in a loss to the Rays.

  • Rays SS Yunel Escobar went hitless in a fourth straight game, finishing 0-for-3 with a sacrifice.

  • Dodgers activated RHP Chad Billingsley from the 15-day disabled list.

  • Reds recalled RHP Logan Ondrusek from Double-A Pensacola.

  • Reds placed LHP Sean Marshall on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to April 8, with left shoulder tendinitis.

American League:
  • Mariners recalled LHP Bobby LaFromboise from Triple-A Tacoma.

  • Mariners optioned LHP Lucas Luetge to Triple-A Tacoma.

  • A's recalled INF Andy Parrino from Triple-A Sacramento.

  • Rays acquired C Juan Apodaca from the Rangers for cash considerations.

  • Indians optioned RHP Carlos Carrasco to Triple-A Columbus.

  • Angels signed 1B/OF Brad Hawpe to a minor league contract.

  • Blue Jays designated RHP Alex Burnett for assignment.

  • Orioles acquired LHP Chris Jones from the Braves for RHP Luis Ayala.

  • Red Sox recalled RHP Alex Wilson from Triple-A Pawtucket.

  • Blue Jays claimed OF Casper Wells off waivers from the Mariners.

  • Indians recalled RHP Corey Kluber from Triple-A Columbus.

  • Rangers RP Justin Grimm was recalled from Triple-A Round Rock and started Thursday against the Mariners.

  • Rangers placed LHP Matt Harrison on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to April 7, with a lower back strain.

  • Red Sox optioned INF Jose Iglesias to Triple-A Pawtucket.

  • Red Sox activated SS Stephen Drew from the 7-day disabled list.

Injury Updates:

National League:

  • Padres 3B Chase Headley (thumb) took batting practice from both sides of the plate Wednesday.

  • Adam Rubin of ESPNNewYork.com reports that the Mets expect SP Shaun Marcum (neck) to be ready for activation from the disabled list "relatively quickly."

  • OF Carlos Quentin (wrist) was not in the Padres' lineup Wednesday.

  • Mets prospect SP Zack Wheeler recently underwent an MRI for a blister on his right middle finger.
  • Marlins 1B Joe Mahoney (oblique) played in an extended spring training game Wednesday and will begin a rehab assignment with High-A Jupiter in the next few days.

  • Pirates SP Wandy Rodriguez was diagnosed with a left hamstring strain and is "not likely" to make his next scheduled start on Sunday.
  • Brewers SP Mark Rogers (shoulder) is making the transition to the bullpen.
American League:
  • Mariners OF Michael Saunders has been diagnosed with a sprained right shoulder.

  • Twins SP Scott Diamond (elbow) is scheduled to make his season debut on Saturday.

  • White Sox SP John Danks (shoulder) topped out at 89 mph during his third extended spring training start on Tuesday.

  • Angels RP Ryan Madson (elbow) hopes to face batters "within two weeks."

  • A's 2B Scott Sizemore has re-torn his left ACL and will miss the remainder of the 2013 season.

  • A's OF Josh Reddick (wrist) thinks he might be ready to return to the lineup Thursday.

  • White Sox 2B Gordon Beckham (wrist) could need a stint on the disabled list.

  • Orioles RP Steve Johnson (lat) will make a start in an extended spring training game on Saturday.

  • The Red Sox are hoping that DH David Ortiz (heels) can join the active roster on April 19.

  • Red Sox SP John Lackey (bicep) felt tightness after making about 15 throws.

  • Blue Jays 3B Brett Lawrie (rib cage) will play in an extended spring training game Thursday.

  • Yankees OF Curtis Granderson (forearm) hopes to start a throwing program Thursday.

  • Yankees SS Derek Jeter (ankle) has resumed on-field hitting.

  • Rays OF Matt Joyce said he experienced "a little whiplash" after attempting to dive for a fly ball on Tuesday.
  • Blue Jays RP Sergio Santos didn't pitch the eighth inning due to some tenderness in his right triceps.
  • Rays SP Jeff Niemann underwent season ending shoulder surgery on Wednesday.

Notes and Rumors:

National League:

  • Cubs prospect OF Jorge Soler was ejected from High-A Daytona's game versus Clearwater Wednesday after going after an opponent in the dugout with a bat.

  • The Cubs/Brewers game was postponed due to rain and will be made up as part of a day/night doubleheader on July 30th.
  • Cardinals prospect SP Carlos Martinez is expected to report to Double-A Springfield within the next few weeks after missing most of spring training with visa issues.

  • Braves RP Anthony Varvaro or Cristhian Martinez will likely be designated for assignment in order to make room for the newly-acquired Luis Ayala on the roster

  • Padres 1B Yonder Alonso made appearances at second base and third base in the ninth inning.
  • Reds manager Dusty Baker said Wednesday that the club considered calling up prospect left-hander RP Tony Cingrani to replace Sean Marshall (shoulder) in the bullpen before ultimately deciding on RP Logan Ondrusek.

American League:
  • Royals SP Luis Mendoza will have his next start skipped after taking his turn on Friday.

  • Astros manager Bo Porter said that SS Marwin Gonzalez has earned more playing time.

  • The Los Angeles Times' Mike DiGiovanna has tweeted that SS Erick Aybar's left heel injury "doesn't look good."

  • The Indians/Yankees contest was postponed due to rain, no makeup date has been announced.
  • The Astros have scored 24 runs in their last two games after scoring only 17 in their first seven contests while being shutout three times this season.
  • Indians SP Brett Myers' next start will come on Sunday versus the White Sox as a result of his last start being skipped when he had to replace SP Carlos Carrasco early in Tuesday's game.

  • Eric Sogard will be the A's primary second baseman with the injury news to Scott Sizemore.

  • RP Jose Valverde has reported to the Tigers' spring training complex in Lakeland, Florida.

  • Red Sox SP Felix Doubront will have his next start pushed back from Thursday to Friday against the Rays.

  • Red Sox RP Alfredo Aceves will start in place of John Lackey Thursday against the Orioles.

  • Mariners prospect catcher Mike Zunino is hitting .429 (9-for-21) with four home runs and 16 RBI through his first five games this season with Triple-A Tacoma.
