National League:

  • SS Brandon Crawford hit a three-run homer in the Giants' 9-6 win over the Rockies.
  • Giants SP Tim Lincecum overcame an awful start to go six innings and allow six runs against the Rockies.

  • Giants OF Angel Pagan went 3-for-5 with a couple of runs scored versus the Rockies.

  • Rockies C Wilin Rosario, already with three homers this season, stole his first two bases against the Giants.

  • OF Garrett Jones went 3-for-5 with two RBI and a steal in the Pirates' 6-5 win over the Diamondbacks.

  • Diamondbacks SP Brandon McCarthy surrendered six runs -- four earned -- in 6 2/3 innings in a loss to the Pirates.

  • Pirates OF Starling Marte went 2-for-5 with a double, two RBI and a stolen base against the Diamondbacks.

  • Pirates 3B Pedro Alvarez went hitless in a sixth straight game and is now 2-for-29 this season.

  • RP Kyuji Fujikawa recorded his second save of the season and first since being named closer in the Cubs' 6-3 win over the Brewers.

  • SP Wily Peralta allowed three runs -- two earned -- in 6 2/3 innings as the Brewers lost to the Cubs.

  • SP Travis Wood allowed three runs -- two earned -- in 6 1/3 innings in the Cubs' win over the Brewers.

  • SP Lance Lynn allowed one run while striking out 10 in six innings of the Cardinals' 5-1 win over the Reds.

  • SP Bronson Arroyo allowed four runs, all in the sixth inning, in the Reds' loss to the Cardinals.

  • 1B Matt Adams hit a game-winning two-run homer to help the Cardinals beat the Reds.

  • Nationals SP Gio Gonzalez struck out seven and allowed just one run but lasted only five innings in a 8-7 win over the White Sox.

  • Nationals RP Rafael Soriano nailed down a save in nail-biting fashion, allowing a two-run homer before getting a flyout to end the game.

  • Nationals 1B Adam LaRoche launched his first two homers -- and first two hits -- of the season in a win over the White Sox.
  • Padres SP Clayton Richard labored through five innings but escaped with a no-decision, giving up two runs on eight hits and three walks in the 9-3 win over the Dodgers.

  • Dodgers SP Josh Beckett allowed three runs on six hits and a walk over just five innings in a loss to the Padres.

  • Padres OF Will Venable went 2-for-3 with a home run and four RBI in a win over the Dodgers.

  • Dodgers 3B Juan Uribe belted a two-run homer in a loss to the Padres.

  • Phillies SP Cliff Lee came within one out of a complete game, holding the Mets to three runs -- two earned -- on eight hits and no walks in the 8-3 victory.

  • Mets SP Dillon Gee was rocked for seven runs on 10 hits over just three frames in a loss to the Phillies.

  • SP Kris Medlen allowed one run in seven innings as the Braves beat the Marlins 3-2.

  • SP Wade LeBlanc threw six innings and allowed two runs in the Marlins' loss to the Braves.

  • C Evan Gattis went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer in the Braves' win over the Marlins.

  • Phillies 3B Michael Young went 3-for-4 with a solo homer and an RBI triple in a win over the Mets.

  • Mets C John Buck launched his fourth homer of the season, a two-run shot, in a loss to the Phillies.

American League:

  • Mariners OF Jason Bay homered, singled and walked off the bench against the Astros.
  • Royals SS Alcides Escobar went 3-for-4 in the Royals' 7-4 win over the Twins.

  • SP Mike Pelfrey allowed six runs in two innings in the Twins' loss to the Royals.

  • Rays SP Jeremy Guthrie allowed four runs in 6 2/3 innings to get the win against the Twins.

  • White Sox SP Jake Peavy struck out seven but allowed six runs over 5 1/3 innings in a loss to the Nationals.

  • White Sox OF Alex Rios homered for the fourth straight game, launching a ninth-inning, two-run shot off of Nationals closer Rafael Soriano.

  • SP Roberto Hernandez allowed five runs -- four earned -- in 6 2/3 innings in the Rays' loss to the Rangers.

  • DH Lance Berkman went 3-for-4 with two RBI in the Rangers' win over the Rays.

  • SP Andy Pettitte allowed one run in seven innings in the Yankees' 14-1 victory over the Indians.

  • 2B Robinson Cano went 4-for-6 with a home run and five RBI in the Yankees' win against the Indians.

  • 3B Miguel Cabrera went 4-for-5 with a three-run homer, four RBI and three runs scored in leading the Tigers to a 7-3 win over the Blue Jays.

  • Tigers SP Anibal Sanchez yielded two runs in seven innings and struck out eight Blue Jays.

  • Pitching the ninth in a five-run game, Tigers RP Joaquin Benoit gave up a homer and a double before finishing off the Blue Jays.
  • SP Nick Tepesch allowed one run in 7 1/3 innings in his major league debut as the Rangers defeated the Rays 6-1.
  • Blue Jays SP Brandon Morrow was tagged for five runs and two homers in 3 2/3 innings in a loss to the Tigers.
  • Tigers OF Torii Hunter went 3-for-5 with a double versus the Blue Jays.

  • Blue Jays 1B Edwin Encarnacion went 0-for-4 on and is off to a 2-for-27 start this season.

American League:
  • Orioles purchased the contract of OF Chris Dickerson from Triple-A Norfolk.

  • Indians designated RHP Robert Whitenack for assignment.

  • Blue Jays signed RHP Miguel Batista to a minor league contract; assigned him to Triple-A Buffalo.

  • Yankees re-signed LHP Clay Rapada to a minor league contract; assigned him to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

  • Rangers designated OF Julio Borbon for assignment.

  • Indians purchased the contract of C Omir Santos from Triple-A Columbus.

  • Indians recalled INF/C Yan Gomes from Triple-A Columbus.

  • Indians placed C Lou Marson on the 15-day disabled list with a cervical neck strain.

  • Blue Jays sent RHP Dave Bush outright to Triple-A Buffalo.

  • Angels transferred LHP Andrew Taylor from the 15-day disabled list to the 60-day disabled list.

  • Angels purchased the contract of RHP Dane De La Rosa from Triple-A Salt Lake

Injury Updates:

National League:

  •  X-rays on Padres OF Carlos Quentin's right wrist came back negative.

  • Padres 2B Logan Forsythe will keep the protective boot on his right foot on for one more week.

  • Padres 3B Chase Headley (thumb) hit off a tee, played flip in the batting cage and took some ground balls prior to Tuesday's game.

  • Brewers 1B Taylor Green (hip) has had a setback and will not begin his rehab assignment on Wednesday as hoped.

  • Brewers RP Chris Narveson (finger) is expected to be sidelined 4-6 weeks.
  • Reds manager Dusty Baker admitted Tuesday that he's "still a little worried" about RP Sean Marshall (shoulder).

  • SS Jean Segura (quad) was back in the Brewers' starting lineup on Tuesday night against the Cubs.

  • Dodgers SP Ted Lilly (shoulder) will make his next minor league rehab start Wednesday with Triple-A Albuquerque.

  • An MRI Tuesday on Cardinals RP Jason Motte's right elbow revealed a tear in his ulnar collateral ligament.
  • Dodgers SS Hanley Ramirez will have the cast on his right thumb removed sometime this week.
American League:
  • A's 2B Scott Sizemore left Tuesday's game against the Angels due to a sprained left knee.

  • Angels SS Erick Aybar had to leave Tuesday's game with a left heel contusion.

  • White Sox 2B Gordon Beckham (wrist) said after Tuesday's game that he was very sore and would likely miss at least the next two games with left wrist irritation.

  • Rob Bradford of WEEI.com reports that the "prognosis is good" for Red Sox SP John Lackey (bicep) after the right-hander received a second opinion.

  • A's SP Brett Anderson (thumb) is expected to be fine for his next scheduled start.

  • A's SS Hiroyuki Nakajima (hamstring) and INF Adam Rosales (intercostal) are nearing rehab assignments.

  • A's OF Josh Reddick's right wrist remains swollen, but he doesn't think he'll need a trip to the disabled list.

  • Twins RP Rafael Perez (shoulder) will throw live batting practice Thursday.

  • Twins SP Nick Blackburn (arm) has resumed playing catch.

  • Yankees OF Curtis Granderson (arm) has been cleared to take some swings underwater.

  • Rangers SP Colby Lewis (elbow) threw another successful live batting practice session on Tuesday.

  • Rangers RP Joakim Soria (elbow) threw 28 pitches of live batting practice on Tuesday and felt fine.

  • Rangers SP Matt Harrison (back) is unlikely to make his scheduled start Thursday against the Mariners.

  • Rays DH Luke Scott (calf) was encouraged after taking batting practice and doing running drills on Tuesday.

  • Yankees SS Derek Jeter (ankle) is scheduled to begin taking batting practice on Wednesday in Tampa, Florida.

  • Angels OF Kole Calhoun underwent successful surgery Tuesday to repair a fractured hamate bone in his right hand.

  • Red Sox DH David Ortiz (heels) went 2-for-5 in an extended spring training game Tuesday in south Florida.

  • Indians 1B Jason Giambi (back) is staying on the disabled list.

  • Orioles prospect right-hander Dylan Bundy (elbow) is now pain-free and focusing on a throwing program.

  • Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports hears from sources that Angels SP Jered Weaver will miss 4-6 weeks with a broken left (non-throwing) elbow.

Notes and Rumors:

National League:

  • Nationals principal owner Mark Lerner told The Washington Times that he is in discussions with general manager Mike Rizzo about an extension.
American League:
  • Jim Bowden of ESPN.com and MLB Network Radio on Sirius XM reports that the Angels are not interested in trading for Aaron Harang.
  • Yankees OF Brennan Boesch has been taking ground balls at first base.

  • Blue Jays SP Ricky Romero is still working on mechanical adjustments in bullpen sessions and is not yet ready to appear in minor league games.

  • Garrett Richards will replace Jered Weaver (elbow) in the Angels' starting rotation.
  • SP Roy Oswalt wrote on his Twitter account on Monday that he would "love to come back to Philly."
