  • Cubs RP Carlos Marmol blew his first save of the season, allowing a walk-off home run to Justin Upton.

  • Cubs RP Kyuji Fujikawa allowed three earned runs in one inning of work in a loss to the Braves.

  • Braves SP Julio Teheran was hammered for five earned runs over five innings in a no-decision against the Cubs.

  • Cubs SP Carlos Villanueva limited the Braves to one earned run over 6 2/3 innings in a no-decision.

  • INF Kevin Frandsen hit a two-out, bases-loaded pinch-hit double to give the Phillies a 4-3 win over the Royals.

  • Dodgers acquired C Ramon Hernandez from the Rockies for RHP Aaron Harang and cash considerations. Rockies then designated Harang for assignment.

  • Diamondbacks claimed RHP Will Harris off waivers from the Athletics; assigned him to Triple-A Reno.

  • Mets transferred LHP Johan Santana from the 15-day disabled list to the 60-day disabled list.

  • Brewers placed 3B Aramis Ramirez on the 15-day disabled list with a sprained left knee.

  • According to MLB.com's Adam McCalvy, Brewers OF Ryan Braun (neck) "can't move his head at all."

  • Braves SS Andrelton Simmons was scratched from Saturday's lineup with a left thumb sprain.

  • 1B Adam LaRoche (back) was not in the Nationals' lineup Saturday.

  • Dodgers SP Chad Billingsley (finger) has been cleared to start Wednesday against the Padres.

  • Pirates RP Jeanmar Gomez underwent X-rays on his rib cage after Friday's game against the Dodgers.

American League:
  • Twins OF Darin Mastroianni (ankle) said he's progressing but will still likely need a few days before he's ready to start.

  • A's OF Yoenis Cespedes felt a little pain in his elbow during Saturday's game but was able to stay in the game.

  • Indians C Lou Marson left Saturday's game against the Rays after a home-plate collision with Desmond Jennings in the third inning.

  • Indians DH Jason Giambi (back) will be activated Tuesday.

  • RedSox SP John Lackey will undergo an MRI on his injured right arm Sunday morning in Boston.

  • Yankees INF Eduardo Nunez (bicep) was not in Saturday's lineup against the Tigers.

  • The New York Post confirms that SP Zack Wheeler is "not far away" from being promoted to the Mets.

American League:

  • Orioles Ryan Flaherty started his second straight game in place of the injured Brian Roberts at second base on Saturday afternoon.

  • Tigers manager Jim Leyland said he would like to see Joaquin Benoit emerge as the team's closer.
