Internet Baseball Awards

Voting for the 20th annual Internet Baseball Awards balloting is now open.  As always, the IBAs are completely free–we just need you to have any level of Baseball Prospectus account so we can verify who is voting–and voting qualifies you to win a year of Baseball Prospectus Premium.  The IBAs are the longest-running online balloting for baseball awards that we know of–predating Baseball Prospectus itself by years–and we're proud of the decisions our voters have made throughout the years.  If you haven't already cast your ballot, we hope you'll do so.

We've made a couple of changes to the awards pages this year based on your feedback.

  • When navigating through the ballots, look for the  symbol to indicate which ballots have been recorded.  You can always re-submit any ballot up until voting closes, of course, and your last ballot will be used.
  • We've included links to player cards for players on the player selection page of the ballot.  Click  to open his player card in a new window or tab.

As usual, we're giving out free Baseball Prospectus Premium subscriptions or extensions to a few lucky voters.  This year, we've also got PDFs of our other sports annuals to give away to random voters.  We'll be giving out copies of your choice of Hockey Prospectus or the forthcoming College Basketball Prospectus to a few lucky voters.  (We'd also be giving out Pro Basketball Prospectus, but work stoppages are hell on the production of an annual.)

We're considering adding your recorded ballot as a display option–you'd see all the existing votes we have recorded for your user account on a page.  Would you use this?  Would you circulate, link to, or share it?  Please let us know in the comments.

Balloting concludes Friday, October 21 at 11:00PM PST.  Click here to cast your vote.

Done. That's at least one MVP vote for AJ Pierzynski.
