It's late in the day, so let's get right to the trots!

Home Run of the Day: Michael Taylor, Oakland A's – 21.06 seconds [video]
Not a lot to choose from on Tuesday. There were 27 home runs hit around the league, but few that stood out. Taylor gets the Home Run of the Day for hitting his first career home run, a blast to the leftfield stairs in the Oakland Coliseum. The trot is rather average; Taylor does not seemed to be affected by the weight of the moment as he heads for home.

Slowest Trot: Adrian Gonzalez, Boston Red Sox – 26.79 seconds [video]
Gonzalez isn't typically a 27-second trotter, but it nearly happened on Tuesday. Nothing in his trot slowed him down – there was no fair/foul confusion, he didn't stand around watching the flight of the ball… he was just a bit slow running the bases. It happens to the best of us, I guess. Brandon Phillips, at 24.99 seconds, was the next slowest trotter, nearly two seconds behind.

Quickest Trot: Jerry Sands, Los Angeles Dodgers – 17.88 seconds [video]
There was no doubting who would get the Quickest Trot of the Day. Sands was hustling around the bases off the bat, almost like he wanted the title. And he won it handily – the next quickest trot was from Chris Stewart, who came in at only 19.11 seconds.

It's almost the end of the season, Larry. Where's that article dedicated to the pitcher trots? :-)
