Friday was a fun day for home runs, especially if you're a Cubs fan.

Let's get right to the trots!

Home Run of the Day: Tony Campana, Chicago Cubs – 14.21 seconds [video]
You always remember your first home run. I imagine that's doubly so when your first home run is of the inside-the-park variety. Granted, this was an inside-the-park home run of the "botched play" variety (courtesy of a very out of position Yonder Alonso), but I don't think Campana or anyone on the Cubs is going to mind that. Campana's trot isn't quite as quick as Peter Bourjos' four-base single, but (unless I'm forgetting one) it is now the second-quickest trot I've recorded, nudging out Shane Victorino's 14.33 second trot. Nice running, Tony.

Slowest Trot: David Ortiz, Boston Red Sox – 26.94 seconds [video]
David Ortiz will, on rare occasions, come through with a 23- or 24-second trot. I don't know where that speed comes from, but it's evident every now and then. This was not one of those times, though I thought it might be. Papi seemed to be moving at a pretty good clip, but the clock doesn't lie.

Quickest Trot: Tony Campana, Chicago Cubs – 14.21 seconds [video]
A sad day for Michael Young, who would have been tops on the Quickest Trot list just about any other day of the year. A 17.09 second trot is nothing to sneeze at, but it seems so slow when placed next to Campana's inside-the-parker. Young also had the fortune of his home run tying the game up with two outs in the bottom of the ninth, with the Rangers going on to win it in the 11th.
