2007 Acquired in a minor deal with the Rangers a month into the season, Vince Sinisi`s power never really showed up, so he has yet to turn into Don Mattingly the way some thought he would coming out of college.
2006 When people get mad at agents for orchestrating bonus holdouts after the amateur draft, Sinisi should serve a prime example of why they do it. Acknowledged to be a 1st-round talent in 2003, Sinisi slipped to the 2nd round because of his bonus demands. He then suffered a broken arm in 2004, missing significant time. Healthy again, he tore up the California League, only to fall flat on his face in Double-A. There are serious doubts about his ability to hit for power down the road or to play anywhere other than 1B or DH, a combination that should torpedo his in Texas. At least he landed that first contract, because that will likely be the biggest one he ever signs.
2005 Played pretty well in the California League. Didn't do much to damage his reputation, nor much to help it. Had his season cut short with a broken arm; it's expected to be healed in time to start the 2005 season. It'll be nice to see him play a full year at Double-A with a clean bill of health. Still hasn't been determined whether or not he'll be able to handle the outfield.
