2015-08-13 20:00:00 (link to chat)Greg, in that same league would you rather have $25 Chris Archer and $3 Gibson or $6 Julio Urias and $1 Alex Bregman?
(Matthew from Twin Cities)
Archer side. I like Urias and Bregan both but always go for the established major leaguers unless it's cost prohibitive. (Greg Wellemeyer)
2015-06-15 19:00:00 (link to chat)Brendan, if you were a GM and you were in position to sign any of Dansby Swanson, Alex Bregman, Trea Turner, Orlando Arcia or Wilmer Difo, who would you take and why?
(jeffbroyde from Socal)
With respect to the rest, I'm debating Swanson and Arcia. I like Arcia's glove, and think he'll start at short for several years, but I think I'd cave and go with Swanson's upside. Hard to pass up a SS with plus speed and 15-20 homer power potential. (Brendan Gawlowski)
2015-06-08 13:00:00 (link to chat)I've seen mock drafts that have the Astros trying to save money with their first few picks. Why would they want to save money? They have $17 million, and there isn't the best draft to say the least.
(Justin from Washington)
Boy, it's a good question. Look, if it works ut that they get Alex Bregman, Carson Fulmer and Daz Cameron in the same draft -- yes, that's possible -- then great. But I'd say that's a less than 25 percent chance. If Cameron doesn't make it to them at 37, I don't see another player that makes not taking Bregman or Tucker at pick five worth it. But that's just me. (Christopher Crawford)
2014-04-21 13:00:00 (link to chat)Alex Bregman sounds a lot like Anthony Rendon 2.0...yay or nay?
(mat43287 from Oakland)
As a polished college bat that could go early in the draft, yes, but Rendon was a 3B who is holding his own at 2B right now while Bregman is an up the middle player all the way who can handle SS. They're not close enough to give them an updated software tag. (Jeff Moore)
