DateQuestionAnswer
2017-03-20 13:00:00 (link to chat)With Eickhoff's late season adjustments projected out over a full 2017 season, does he put up 3+ WAR this year?
(A Gleeful Man from AZ)
Jerad Eickhoff narrowly missed the cut for my recent article about PECOTA's favorite breakout bets among pitchers, but the system definitely likes him long term. He started 33 games, threw 197 innings, and posted 3.3 WARP last season, so I'll say he cracks 3.0 WARP again. I think he's legit as a quality rotation building block for the Phillies. (Aaron Gleeman)
2017-02-02 13:00:00 (link to chat)what do you think of the future and present quality of Jerad Eickhoff?
(caseyj15 from Medford, OR)
He's good -- kind of like Gsellman in a lot of ways. Decent-not-great strikeout potential and solid walk rate. Gets too much on the plate here and there and is punished for it, but will probably keep a mid-to-high 3's ERA for most years. Much better than the Phillies were expecting when they traded for him, I'm sure, but not an ace despite what anyone tells you: he's like a Matt Harrison when he's healthy or, hell, a Jason Hammel. (Trevor Strunk)
2016-12-01 19:00:00 (link to chat)Hi Mike, Who should I keep for 2017, Gerrit Cole or Jerad Eickhoff? Cole has more upside but costs a lot more and has injury questions while Eickhoff has some potential to be solid for cheaper price.
(Cal guy from cal)
Oy. If there's a price difference, I'd go Eickhoff. Hate to give up Cole, but the flags are crimson. Crimson! (Mike Gianella)
2016-03-09 19:00:00 (link to chat)What players outside the top 200 are you targeting for a potential flyer?
(Truganini from CO)
To name a few: Will Myers, Josh Reddick, Aaron Nola, Rich Hill, Jayson Werth, Ben Paulsen, and Jerad Eickhoff. (Mike Gianella)
2016-01-20 13:00:00 (link to chat)How about ranking MLB-debuting starting pitchers Jorge Lopez, Tyler Duffey, Cody Anderson, Zach Davies, John Lamb, Colin Rea, Mike Montgomery and Jerad Eickhoff for long-term value in a dynasty sim league, if you please? Are there big tiers or divisions there? Thanks for all your time spent on scouting and chats.
(delatopia from the 415)
Lopez is a clear No. 1 to me. After that I'd go Rea, Davies, Lamb, Eickhoff, Duffey, Anderson, Montgomery. (Christopher Crawford)
