2017-02-13 20:00:00 (link to chat)Does Votto play all year in Cincy? If not... Who steps in there? Schebler, Mesoraco, ?
(Ozzie from Sabbath )
If Votto gets hurt or traded, I have no idea who would play 1st base for them. Maybe Adam Duvall or Schebler? I'm just grabbing at thin air. :et's cross that bridge when we come to it. Trying to get inside the minds of a major league club and their internal depth charts is the way to madness. Well, one of them anyway. (Scooter Hotz)
2016-06-21 20:00:00 (link to chat)Does Adam Duvall fall of a cliff Joc Pederson style after the all-star break? Or can he sustain the power?
(Alex from Austin)
If by "sustain the power" you mean keep hitting home runs at the pace he has so far this year, then no, I don't think he'll sustain the power since that would put him at 45-50 HR for the season. That said, I think he's good and he's here to stay. The power will fall back to earth a little bit and the average could take a bigger fall, but that's a long way from cratering like Joc Pederson did last year. He won't fall off that badly in AVG or HR. He probably won't contend for MVP, though, which he would if he sustained this HR pace. (Scooter Hotz)
2016-04-14 20:00:00 (link to chat)Are you bullish any of these young platoon outfielders become complete players in the next 2 years? Aaron Hicks, Trayce Thompson, Anthony Gose, Adam Duvall, Avisail Garcia, Tyler Naquin?
(Yes Cheese from Yep)
Absolutely no, never, not gonna happen on Avisail Garcia. I don't think he turns into anything. I'd be surprised if Trayce Thompson turns into a decent everyday player at the MLB level, too. I think Gose is a platoon player, although he's on the good side of the platoon and plays excellent defense, so he could get a little more playing time by virtue of his defense. I don't think Adam Duval will ever be a legit starter on a decent team. Naquin could get more run than most players with his offensive profile due to his glove and the lack of options in CF in Cleveland for the time being. I like Hicks, though. I'm not sure Hicks will ever be a complete player, but he's the best bet of this group. The twins really jerked him around, though, and it hurt his development, maybe irreparably. His glove and arm will give him a lot more chances to figure it out than most outfielders, though. (Scooter Hotz)
2016-03-09 19:00:00 (link to chat)What can you tell me about Cincy's Scott Schebler? Will he be starting in Cincy's outfield and what are your predictions for him if he does start?
(The Bullet Club from Bronx, NY)
Power/speed combo, but numbers at AAA that don't impress me. He will at least get a chance to start out with the job, but Adam Duvall is there as well and ultimately Jesse Winker will supplant them both (barring a sudden Jay Bruce trade). Schelber will be fine and probably go 10/10 with a .260 BA but there's not much upside beyond that. (Mike Gianella)
2015-07-16 20:00:00 (link to chat)Do you see either Mac Williamson or Adam Duvall as impact players at the big league level? Both have swing and miss but seems like SF could use the power potential. Thanks!
(baypunx from around)
I've always been a closet Adam Duvall fan...There's a reason SF wins championships because they have a small army of these types of guys ready to step in at a moments notice. (George Bissell)
2015-01-12 13:00:00 (link to chat)What would happen if Adam DuVall got a full season of ABs this year?
(ColeWhittier from The Dena)
The Giants would regret it. (Matthew Kory)
2014-06-17 20:00:00 (link to chat)Hello guys: I enjoy your chats. Is Adam Duvall (3b Giants/Fresno)going to be playing for the Giants next year? He sure is hitting a ton of HRs for them. And if Sandoval walks, do you think there's a good chance he ends up in Baltimore?
(howling wolf from Bethesda MD)
For minor league nostalgists, Adam Duvall seems like a Mike Hessman for the teens. Fresno isn't quite a launching pad, but we'd say say the major takeaway at the moment is "minor league slugger has hot streak." He's not quite draftable for us in Scoresheet yet, unless you're speculating on an injury.

Is there a good chance the O's sign a past his prime corner player free agent who doesn't hit quite as well as a corner player should and is still trading on a monster season from three years ago? Maybe if Sandoval were five years older! We're curious to see what the O's do, but with Hardy still yet to hit his first homer and Machado hitting like a shortstop, you have to think the O's are seriously going to be considering making that kind of move.
