2015 B.J. Rosenberg allowed as many big-league home runs in 2014 as Garrett Richards. Even siphoning out the bad luck doesn't leave an interesting story.
2014 Honestly, B.J. Rosenberg isn't interesting. He's a 28-year-old Quad-A type reliever, utilizing a mid-90s fastball and not much else. You can see his Triple-A stats above; they're boring. He walks too many batters and doesn't miss bats often enough to be anything but low-leverage help. As part of a bullpen already teeming with young, high-ceiling arms, there just isn't enough room for Rosenberg. You might see him during the season, as injuries take their toll as usual. More likely, you've already forgotten about him.
2013 More fine work at the minor-league level earned the 27-year-old a major-league opportunity. Alas, it didn't go so well as Rosenberg struggled with walks and home runs. Working at 95-96 mph consistently will afford the right-hander more chances to erase those memories, though an already deep pen and the signing of Mike Adams cuts into the likelihood that Rosenberg will be a part of the Phillies' Opening Day roster.
