2014 Due to publishing agreements, the 2014 player comments and team essays are only available in the Baseball Prospectus 2014 book (available in hardcopy, e-book, and Kindle).
2013 Milwaukee’s lineup leans more right than a Utah primary voter, so the Brewers would love to see Green’s lefty bat mature. Unfortunately, the young infielder hasn’t built on his breakout 2011 season, looking overmatched in limited big-league action and taking a step back during a lackluster Triple-A campaign. A patient hitter with below-average power for an infield corner and a subpar glove at the keystone, Green demonstrated even less pop last season while his walk and strikeout rates moved in the wrong direction. The organization loves his makeup and is willing to write off last year’s struggles as a bump in the road, hoping Green can become a solid insurance policy for the injury-prone Aramis Ramirez and Rickie Weeks, or a contributor at first base. The odds against him becoming a long-term starter are high, but as a former late-round draft pick, Green has already proven he can exceed expectations.
2012 Wrist surgery following the 2008 season had enough of an impact on Green that he was on the verge of washing out as a prospect. But he had moved beyond those effects by 2011, and he hit .377 from June 1 through the end of Nashville's season. Certainly, he won't post .360 BABIPs in the majors as he did at Triple-A, but he's shown enough now that the organization expects him to hit if they need him, and views him as having the upside potential of a starting third baseman, though a utility role is still considered more likely.
2010 A fringy prospect to begin with, third baseman Taylor Green struggled with injuries and ineffectiveness in his first taste of the high minors and will need to show power this season to keep people's interest.
2009 This 2005 draft-and-follow won the organization’s Minor League Player of the Year honors for a strong 2007 season in West Virginia, and while his raw numbers took a predictable hit in the Florida State League, the translations remind that he continued to make progress. Green has very good plate discipline and contact skills, but he only projects to have average power. While he’s not a butcher afield like Braun or Gamel at the hot corner, his range and arm strength at third base don’t wow many observers, and if he has to move, the offensive bar will only be raised.
2008 Taylor Green was the Brewers' Minor League Player of the Year based on a big season at Low-A, but scouts love his effort and hard-nosed playing style far more than they love his tools.

2013-04-03 14:00:00 (link to chat)NL only Keeper league didn't see anything good so bought Taylor Green for $3. Good shot? Could he turn out to be anything?
(grandslam28 from Chicago)
Could turn out to be even older than he already is (Sam Miller)
2013-04-03 14:00:00 (link to chat)Taylor Green: Actually it was for $2 lol
(grandslam28 from Chicago)
Noting this so there will be no confusion in future Taylor Green chat questions. (Sam Miller)
2012-07-26 14:00:00 (link to chat)If you were the Brewers' GM, what would you be looking to do at the deadline?
(adambennett from The Batcave)
The Crew is feeling the hangover from last year’s playoff push, and too many injuries makes it clear they won’t be in the playoff picture. So I’d sell, just like they’re getting ready to do now. Zack Greinke is a great trading chip, and I’d move Aramis Ramirez and maybe Corey Hart if I had to—if anyone wants Randy Wolf or K-Rod, I’d trade them as well. Also not a Carlos Gomez fan; I’ve been hoping they’d dump him for years. They need to restock their farm system with some position prospects to make up for last year’s fire sale and give a look to Logan Schafer and Taylor Green. They can be competitive again once the team’s healthy, so there’s no need to dump everyone, but they need to face reality and get ready for 2013. (Michael Street)
2011-07-29 13:00:00 (link to chat)Do the Brewers make any moves before the deadline (internally or through trade) or do they try to stand pat with the sub-par left side of the infield/2nd base replacement and hope for the best?
(Ryan from Madison)
They're kicking the tires on Carroll and Furcal, but why Taylor Green is still at Triple-A is beyond me. (Kevin Goldstein)
