BP Annual Player Comments

YearComment
2013 With another year passed, Jordan Parraz's chances of becoming someone's fourth outfielder are slipping away.
2012 Jordan Parraz changes organizations more often than some odd people change underwear. Atlanta will be Parraz’s fifth organization since the beginning of 2008. He has tools and could still prove useful as a bench player, but time is no longer on his side.
2011 An impressive athlete who never seems to put it all together, outfielder Jordan Parraz will frustrate the Yankees in 2011, his third organization of the 2010-2011 offseason.
2010 Despite producing at every level in the Astros organization, Parraz moved up relatively slowly; it was difficult to evaluate him because he was always quite old for his levels. Scouts credit his athleticism, arm, plate discipline, gap-power, and speed (though he needs to clean up his baserunning). The Royals snagged this sleeper for failed pitching prospect Tyler Lumsden after the 2008 season, and while Parraz will be the starting right fielder in Omaha this season, he could see time in Kansas City, especially when the inevitable Guillen injury occurs.
2009 Parraz has been moved very slowly through the Houston system, and as a result he's definitely old for his levels. His overarching skill is his arm, an absolute cannon, but the best use (pitching) is ruled out because he can't control it. That's pretty much the story for all of his talents; he hasn't been able to translate them into appropriate production. Traded to Kansas City.
2008 Outfielder Jordan Parraz is a little old for his level, but he has a well-rounded set of skills and an outside chance of developing into an intriguing power/speed package.
2007 When the Astros selected Jordan Parraz in the third round of the 2004 draft, they knew he`d take a while. Indeed, he finally showed some major signs of life in 2006 with a monster season in the New York-Penn League. He`s got more tools than Santa`s elves, so keep an eye on his full-season debut.

2009-08-21 14:00:00 (link to chat)In Jordan Parraz and David Lough, do the Royals have a couple of young outfielders to build around or a couple of replacement level guys who are still better than anything they have, non-DeJesus division?
(BL from Bozeman)
Jordan Parrez and David Lough are decent prospects. They are not something to build around. (Kevin Goldstein)
