You can't have a career pitching to Carlos Pena and David Ortiz in a 12 man staff, or you can, as long as your not Traber? Thanks! (Tony from Brooklyn, NY) | It seems pretty likely he's going to make the Yankees, Tony, but how long he lasts I dunno, because if you look at his career platoon splits, he handles portsiders very well but every righty hitter who faces him is transformed into Vlad Guerrero. Traber would have to very literally be a one-out guy.
We've seen that teams can survive without a lefty spot reliever, though those teams weren't in a division with David Ortiz. I still don't think the Yankees should overpay for one of the cats you mention, but they wouldn't be a bad thing to have... (Steven Goldman) |
