DateQuestionAnswer
2017-03-22 20:00:00 (link to chat)Who are some names to watch in the FSL this season?
(Jordan from Florida)
Without looking closely: the aforementioned Mateo and Kaprielian seem destined to start there for the Yankees. Like eight guys on Atlanta's affiliate. Mitch Keller. Franklyn Kilome. (Jarrett Seidler)
2016-11-11 13:00:00 (link to chat)Amed Rosario and Franklyn Kilome seemed to be two serious risers last year. Is that growth sustainable? Are these two guys we should be excited about?
(scottski45 from Detroit)
Kilome will continue to have hiccups I'd imagine. It's the exact kind of profile I fall in love with and ignore that he may just end up a frustrating relief arm. But if he ever puts it together...look out.

Rosario is a top tier prospect now, and has a more balanced offensive and defensive skill set than he had at this time last year. This is what happens when it does click. I still need to see Rosario's swing work in a longer sample against better arms. The hand path is unorthodox and he struggles with fade at times.. (Jeffrey Paternostro)
2016-06-27 20:00:00 (link to chat)I feel dirty talking about 20yro pitching prospects, but here goes.... Franklyn Kilome...I hear his stuff is great but his command can let him down; is this typical of guys his age? How do you feel about him this yr...still looking like a possible (aren't they all) top of the rotation guy?
(madjockmcferson from Norton, MA)
I don't know much about Franklyn Kilome looking at the profile I wouldn't be too concerned with the lack of command at this point. He is striking almost a batter per inning and he has plenty of time to figure out the command. I hesitate to call him a top of the rotation guy but I'm more cautious than most with that term. (James Fisher)
2016-05-18 19:00:00 (link to chat)Trying not to scout stat lines but the start of the season so far for Franklyn Kilome, Francis Martes & Erick Fedde hasn't been what I expected. Any concerns or do I need to relax as still early in the season?
(David from Atlantis)
I'm a believer in Martes and Kilome who both took huge steps forward last season, I wouldn't be concerned because of their age relative to the league they're playing in. They're going to be fine. The stuff is too good. (George Bissell)
2016-04-25 23:00:00 (link to chat)Mr. Karaman! Got 2 hitting prospects and pitchers wouldn't mind getting your opinion on: Eloy Jimenez & Luis Alexander Basabe; Franklyn Kilome & Junior Fernandez. If you could have only one of the hitters and pitchers in your system who would you choose and why?
(Leonard from None of Your Business)
Can I cheat and take Jimenez/Basabe? I wrote about both those guys recently as sweet ceiling guys, and given that all four of them are reasonably equivalent degrees of raw I'd want the two bats. Kilome's been a tire fire in his first three starts, but assuming he's okay (haven't seen any firsthand reports yet) I'd probably prefer him as the arm if you HAVE to do 1-1. (Wilson Karaman)
2016-04-14 20:00:00 (link to chat)Name 3 prospect hitters that you believe will break out and 3 prospect pitchers that you believe will break out. Both cannot be on BP's top 101 list.
(Bill Clinton from Las Vegas)
Hitters: Cornelius Randolph (I own him in my NL-only league), Bobby Bradley, Christian Arroyo (honorable mention to Dan Vogelbach)

Pitchers: Carson Fulmer, Tyler Jay, Frankie Montas (honorable mention to Franklyn Kilome) (Scooter Hotz)
2016-04-12 18:00:00 (link to chat)Can Franklyn Kilome harness it enough to be a front line starter?
(Thomas from Stone house )
I think you're looking at more of a mid-rotation guy, or -- and I'd probably say most likely -- a high-leverage reliever. The secondaries and command just aren't where they need to be to suggest pitching at the top of a rotation. (Christopher Crawford)
2016-02-03 20:00:00 (link to chat)Greg, thanks for doing this chat! My question: Name five prospects currently not in the BP top 50 who have a chance to land there by mid-season. Basically, what 5 prospects do you see rising their stock substantially this year?
(Bill Clinton from Las Vegas)
Just drawing from the 101 here - Clint Frazier, Francis Martes, Harold Ramirez, Yusniel Diaz, Franklyn Kilome, (Greg Wellemeyer)
2015-11-18 13:00:00 (link to chat)Trying to evaluate the upside of a few low minors arms - any of these guys have top of the rotation potential: Franklyn Kilome, Dylan Cease, Oscar De La Cruz, Francis Martes, or Devin Williams?
(Jose from CA)
I think you could maybe argue Kilkome but even that seems like a reach. I'd say none of those guys pitches at the top of a big league rotation. (Christopher Crawford)
2015-08-25 13:00:00 (link to chat)What kind of upside does Franklyn Kilome have? Is he a potential ace?
(Scott from IL)
That's probably asking too much, The secondary stuff just isn't quite there yet. I'd say he's a potential mid-rotation guy, with lights-out closer a possibility. (Christopher Crawford)
2015-08-13 20:00:00 (link to chat)Hey Greg. Any thoughts and opinions on Francis Martes & Franklyn Kilome? Any chance each have a potential to be role 6 SP?
(kiper90 from Rochester, NY)
I haven't seen either one but I sure do like what I've heard. I follow way too many Phillies guys on Twitter (hate the Phils but a lot of smart guys cover their system), so I had early strong feelings for Kilome and the buzz is getting louder. Didn't know much about Martes until recently but seems every time I hear something, it's glowing. Definitely a big leap in 2015. (Greg Wellemeyer)
2015-07-23 17:00:00 (link to chat)Please rank the following pitching prospects...Francis Martes, Joe Musgrove, Anderson Espinoza, Franklyn Kilome, Colin Rea, Chih-Wei Hu, Wei-Chieh Huang
(Festivus313 from Phoenix)
Kilome is ahead of the rest of those guys and then Musgrove but after that this is where my lack of deeper minor league knowledge hurts me. I'd guess Marte, Rea, Huang, and Hu but to be honest I don't have a good feel for where these guys should truly sit. (Mike Gianella)
2015-07-28 18:00:00 (link to chat)Hey Mauricio. Any opinion and thoughts on Francis Martes & Franklyn Kilome? Is it possible to say each have a possibility to be a role 6 starting pitcher?
(Something to Dream On from Far Away From the Show)
I've heard very good reports on Martes and Kilome. I think Martes in particular has the 6 upside. (Mauricio Rubio)
2015-07-30 13:00:00 (link to chat)Hey Jeff. I know they are forever away but any opinion and thoughts on Francis Martes, Franklyn Kilome, & Luiz Gohara. Any chance their potentials could be a role 6 starter?
(kiper90 from Rochester, NY)
Two things. First I'm not a scout, so I'd defer to our prospect team here. Second is that when it comes to pitching prospects I tend to lean towards big stuff, especially breaking balls, in valuing guys. So, with that said, I think your order makes some sense. Martes has the highest upside to me, with Kilome likely having a higher floor. Gohara is a ways away but the raw stuff is impressive. Martes has the best shot at being a role 6 guy (or better) but they're all intriguing arms. (Jeff Long)
2015-08-21 13:00:00 (link to chat)Hey Wilson. Are there any Low Minor players whose name is not yet widely recognized and you are looking to keep an eye on as the season concludes to possibly jump on for a name breakout next year?
(kiper90 from Rochester, NY)
Leaving out the '15 draftees, Victor Robles is probably the biggest helium guy of the year. Our Mark Anderson just tossed three 7's onto his ledger, linked below. Javier Guerra and Amed Rosario are a couple interesting shortstops. And while another one, Jorge Mateo, has gotten a lot of attention for his wheels, Rockies A-ball CFer Wes Rogers is a dude with a similar skillset & more polished hit tool. Potential SB beast. Jomar Reyes is a fan favorite of our scouting team. Amaurys Minier & Lewin Diaz in the Twins system are also both interesting raw power bats. Arms you'll be hearing a lot more about include Anderson Espinoza, Franklyn Kilome, Michael Kopech (though he's suspended), and the now-in-High-A Francis Martes (whose CB is just disgusting). (Wilson Karaman)
