Physical/Health
Right at list height and maybe 5-10 lbs heavier than listed 171 lbs. Lean muscle throughout lower body with a slim, but lean torso. Frame could support 15 lbs comfortably. Taveras is an excellent athlete, loose with explosive, twitchy actions and graceful body control. Good traditional athleticism with quick acceleration and bendy flexibility.

Tool Future Grade Report
Hit 60 Excellent coordination and quickness currently key to his offensive skillset.

Left-handed hitting: Plus bat speed, plus feel for barrel, adjusts swing well to location and can adjust breaking ball. Gets on plane well and sprays hard line drives around the field.

Ringh-handed hitting: Average bat speed with contact first swing. Moderate feel for barrel with contact oriented swing. Swing much more flat from right side and produces more grounders.

Usually aggressive on early fastballs, but can be a little too passive. Still struggles with above average breaking/off speed at times.
Power 40 Above average raw power. Approach currently limits power from both sides as he defaults to contact approach too often. Right handed swing doesn't tap into raw power at all and currently plays down to true 20 game power.
Baserunning/Speed 60 Plus speed with plus acceleration and top speed. Reads pitchers well and should be a plus base stealer at the MLB level. Good instincts on the basepaths as well.
Glove 60 Good reads off the bat with plus closing speed. Routes can be a bit inconsistent, but he makes up for a bit by good tracking skills at full speed.
Arm 55 Above-average arm strength and regularly makes strong, accurate throws. Will play at an above-average level in center field.
Overall

Leody Taveras profiles as a first division regular in center where his plus defensive profile and speed will allow him to provide significant value that will offset a slightly below-average bat.

Taveras is an excellent athlete with quality body control and will likely provide enough contact and OBP to allow his base stealing abilities and premium defense to play every day at the MLB level. It's possible that poor power from the right side will limit him to a long side platoon role if he is unable to bring his righty swing closer to his left side.

Taveras has the athletic ability, raw power, feel for hit, and patience for plus regular 75th percentile upside if he's able to tie the tools together and refine his swing/approach to get more out of his natural abilities.
