Happy Draft Day, Everyone.

Here you go, the top 125 prospects in this class. Please remember this is not a mock, so no, I’m not projecting Jason Groome to go to the Phillies (I should be, though) or Corey Ray to the Reds (again, should be, but not).

You’ll notice Delvin Perez remains at three. It recently came out that Perez failed a drug test, with the drug being undisclosed. I will say that this will certainly affect his draft status—anytime you’re talking about paying millions of dollars to a teenager it HAS to play some sort of affect—but it doesn’t change what I think about him as a player. He’s still one of the only prep hitters with any upside in this class, and I’d still be tickled pink to take him in the top five of this draft.

If you have any questions about these guys, feel free to leave them in the comments, or come on over to the draft chat this morning and we’ll gab away.

Here we go.

I'm a little surprised Walker Robbins didn't show up in the 125. How was his spring?

Robbins would be in that next tier. If he played any other position, I think he'd be a top 100 guy. There's an above-average hit tool here, and he's not completely devoid of power. Because he's limited athletically to first base, however, it just puts way too much pressure on that hit tool, and I'm not quite sure if he's up to the challenge. Many in the industry disagree.

So is Ron Washington Jr eligible for the draft this year?? What happened?

He's eligible, he's just not a player who will likely go in the first ten rounds.

What happened to Pint? I thought he was top 3 or 4? (He's on my farm team with Groome and Perez.)

Also, is Ray (short) really a better MLB bet than Rutherford (tall)?
