One small typo--Tapia listed as a SS. I like the sort by means of signing. Just from curiosity what might that sort look like from 10 years ago, what's the trend line ? Thanks.

Thanks for the feedback. Will definitely look into getting something historical whipped up.

I have moved Tapia to the OF.

Agreed. Love the sort by means of signing, and it would be interesting to see which teams are better able to pull players internationally vs. the draft, etc.

Also, shouldn't you be ranking Josh Bell as a 1B now? He'll probably make his debut there in early June unless John Jaso succeeds beyond his family's wildest dreams.

You've still got Newcomb as an Angel instead of a Brave.

The editors did a good job on the teams, I messed a couple of them up this morning when fixing other stuff, so they were wrong for a few minutes (namely from the time I fixed Tapia until a couple minutes ago). Should all be okay now.

Pretty surprised Story didn't make the cut.

As a group, we're not all that high on Story. He's likely not a SS long-term and there are real concerns about his hit tool. He's much more appealing from a fantasy perspective because of Coors but based on his true talent projection, he's most likely a 2nd-Div type.

The number of shortstops is staggering.

Yes, and of course the problem is a number of them who do make it to the show will be at another position.

Of course I'm shamelessly plugging my own work here, but check this piece out for an explanation of the industry-wide SS fetish.

A fun exercise is taking a stab at which is the top organization.
The Rangers are very top heavy with #5, 8 and 15, but none again until 59. The Dodgers have a fourth player in the top-50 (1, 6, 28 and 40), but the "winner" may be Colorado with an impressive middle class (#s 20, 24, 31, 33, 36 and 42).

I'd much rather have 1 and 6 than 20, 24, 33 and 36 (28 and 31, 40 and 42 being about the same). Think about it in terms of the draft table and it's no-brainer.

FYI - teams not listed - Marlins, Angels, Giants

I'm surprised there are prospects left after last year. Figured this list would be giolito and 16 year old Dominicans lol
