  • David Cooper, 1B, Blue Jays (Triple-A Las Vegas): 2-for-3, HR (6), R, 3 RBI, 2 BB, K. Not much power, but ability to not make outs could get him another look; .308/.381/.513 in 40 games.

The Blue Jays' low-A pitchers have been getting all the press/raves, but what can you tell me about Sean Nolin at high-A Dunedin (2.34 ERA, 5.3-1 K/BB)? And since I checked the league stats to see whether Nolin's numbers were just a symptom of the league, what about C. J. Reifenhauser (0.70 ERA and 10-1 K/BB)? Neither of these guys made your pre-season organization top-20's.

Not mentioned in your write-up, but I notice that Josh Sale was pulled from the game shortly after his second AB, a double. Any information on why?

KG - On Dickerson, the theory was looking at his home/road splits last year, that he was the benefactor of a tremendous home park for hitting. This year, in the CAL, I understand his home park is fairly neutral, all things considered for that league, but his power is seemingly on the road (in the more 'hitter friendly' enviornments). How much weight do you put into this when evaluating him as a prospect? Thanks.

Looks like the David Cooper zealots finally got to you, KG.

Wasn't Brown's main knock that he didn't have good plate discipline? I know his season is less than stellar, but has his approach become better, as it seems like he is walking a lot?

Carlos Peguero reminds a lot of Glenallen Hill.

I have a soft spot in my heart for the guys who strikeout a ton but when they make contact, it goes far.

Also, I like any excuse to post this link: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-3017957919029122909

Interesting that Cron and Cooper are back-to-back here. Kind of remind me of one another, in a way. Wonder who has the better MLB career...

Kevin, what should we make of Gyorko playing 3B?
