Sure it's Saturday, but I'm looking the box scores, so might as well share . . .

  • Engel Beltre, OF, Rangers (Double-A Frisco): 2-for-4, 2 3B, 3 RBI, K. Tends to adjust slowly at new levels, 2011 will be a big year for his prospects status as he gets second shot at Double-A.
  • Brody Colvin, RHP, Phillies (Low-A Lakewood): 5 IP, 3 H, 1 R (0 ER), 3 BB, 5 K. Athletic, projectable righty made big adjustments in second-half, deserves more hype than he gets.
  • Alex Cobb, RHP, Durham (Triple-A Durham): 6.2 IP, 3 H, 2 R, 1 BB, 10 K. Curveball specialist was dominant at Double-A down the stretch; 51 Ks over 38.1 innings in last seven starts.
  • Rashun Dixon, OF, Athletics (Low-A Kane County): 3-for-5, 2B, 2 R, 3 RBI, BB, K. Hit .348 in last 35 games of regular season; enters 2011 with big expectations based on upside and adjustments.
  • Robbie Erlin, LHP, Rangers (Low-A Hickory): 5 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 2 BB, 8 K. Undersized lefty has plus stuff and command; could be moved more aggressively after conservative 2010.
  • Nick Franklin, SS, Mariners (Double-A West Tenn): 2-for-4, SB. 19-year-old is 3-for-8 in two Double-A playoff games after leading Midwest League with 23 home runs.
  • Eric Hosmer, 1B, Royals (Double-A Northwest Arkansas): 2-for-4, 3B, HR (2), 2 R, 2 RBI, K. Does any organization in baseball have a better 1-2 offensive prospect punch than Hosmer and Moustakas?
  • Jason Knapp, RHP, Indians (Low-A Lake County): 5 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 6 K. Whiffed 29 over 16 regular season innings; excellent 2011 breakout candidate if he stays healthy.
  • Lance Lynn, RHP, Cardinals (Triple-A Memphis): 7 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 0 BB, 16 K. Was much improved during the second half, but 16 strikeouts is still a glaring total for a pitcher without classically big stuff.
  • Trey Moore, 1B, Nationals (High-A Potomac): 2-for-4, HR (1), R, RBI. Hit .346/.404/.714 in the second half; scouts want to see him do it at the upper levels before they'll truly believe.
  • Zach Putnam, RHP, Indians (Triple-A Columbus): 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 3 K. 2008 fifth-round pick finished year with 10 scoreless bullpen appearances; could be have big league relief role next year.
  • Aderlin Rodriguez, 3B, Mets (Low-A Savannah): 3-for-5, 2 R. 18-year-old hit .312/.352/.556 in Appy League; needs to keep hitting as bat is only impressive tool.
  • Jean Segura, 2B, Angels (Low-A Cedar Rapids): 2-for-4, 3B, R. Last time to mention outstanding second baseman; hit .313/.365/.464 on the season and it's hard to find any weaknesses in his game.
  • Michael Taylor, OF, Athletics (Triple-A Sacramento): 1-for-4, HR (1), R, 3 RBI, 2 K. The hope was that he'd be ready for the big leagues by now . . . he's not.
