Andre Rodgers was a cricketer in the Bahamas before taking up baseball. He had only played baseball a few times before his tryout with the Giants. I remember that he played SS for the Cubs after Ernie Banks had to move to 1B. He was a decent hitter who used a really heavy bat, but he was a brutal fielder.
