- Mets manager Terry Collins indicated Monday that SS Ruben Tejada and Jordany Valdespin likely won't be called up from the Triple-A Las Vegas until September.
- CBS Sports' Jon Heyman reports that the Reds have inquired about Giants' oufielder Hunter Pence.
- Bob Nightengale of USA Today hears the Diamondbacks and Pirates are "strong front runners" for RP Brian Wilson.

- Yankees 3B Alex Rodriguez's lawyer, David Cornwell, said on ESPN on Monday that they are prepping to appeal a suspension from MLB.
