  • Cardinals OF Jon Jay went 2-for-4 with a two-run double, a walk and three runs scored in a 10-6 win over the Pirates.
  • Cardinals RP Mitchell Boggs closed out a four-run game against the Pirates with a scoreless ninth inning.

  • Pirates SP James McDonald was lit up for eight runs — three earned — in 1 2/3 innings by the Cardinals.

  • Pirates 2B Neil Walker went 2-for-5 and hit his first homer in Monday's loss to the Cardinals.

  • SP Bronson Arroyo pitched eight innings and allowed just two runs in the Reds' 4-2 win over the Phillies.

  • Pirates OF Starling Marte continued his strong start going 3-for-5 with an RBI in a loss to the Cardinals.
  • Phillies 2B Chase Utley delivered a pinch hit two-run homer in the top of the 8th inning, but it wasn't enough as Philadelphia lost to Cincinnati 4-2.
  • Reds C Ryan Hanigan is just 2-for-32 this season after going hitless against the Phillies.

  • Philadelphia OF Ben Revere went 0-for-4 in the Phillies' loss to the Reds but had what is possibly the catch of the season so far.

  • SP Jordan Zimmermann went the distance for the Nationals, pitching a six-hitter in a 10-3 win over the Marlins.

  • Cardinals SP Lance Lynn labored through five innings to get his second win of the season Monday. Lynn allowed four runs, three walks, and struck out four.
  • Marlins SP Wade LeBlanc was tagged for seven runs in 3 2/3 innings by the Nationals.

  • Nationals 3B Ryan Zimmerman had a two-run homer and a two-run single against the Marlins.

  • Nationals SS Ian Desmond went 4-for-5 with two doubles and two runs scored in Washington's win over the Marlins.

  • Getting a rare start at first base, Nationals Tyler Moore went 2-for-5 with a double and three RBI against the Marlins.

  • Marlins SS Adeiny Hechavarria went 0-for-4 and is hitting .178 in 45 at-bats this season.

  • Padres SP Eric Stults limited the Dodgers to three runs on nine hits and a walk over six frames in a 6-3 win.

  • Padres RP Huston Street recorded his second save of the season, tossing a scoreless inning in a win over the Dodgers.

  • After three straight hitless games (0-10) OF Cameron Maybin went 1-for-3 with two runs scored in the Padres' 6-3 win over the Dodgers Monday.
  • Dodgers SP Chad Billingsley took a no-decision in a loss to the Padres, giving up three runs over six innings of work.

  • Dodgers OF Carl Crawford went 3-for-5 with an RBI and a run scored in a loss to the Padres.

American League:

  • C Joe Mauer C went 4-for-5 with a homer, a double and three RBI to lead the Twins to an 8-2 win over the Angels.
  • SP Kevin Correia recorded his first win for the Twins after allowing two runs in seven innings against the Angels.

  • Twins 3B Trevor Plouffe had a nice night going 2-for-4 with a homer.
  • Angels SP Joe Blanton surrendered four runs and nine hits in 4 2/3 innings in a loss to the Twins.

  • Twins SS Pedro Florimon went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBI against the Angels.

  • Angels SS Brendan Harris hit his first big-league homer since 2010 off the Twins' Kevin Correia.

  • SP Mark Buehrle picked up his first win for the Blue Jays after allowing two runs in 6 1/3 innings against the White Sox.

  • RP Casey Janssen pitched a perfect ninth, striking out two to earn his fourth save of the season as the Blue Jays defeated the White Sox 4-3 Monday.
  • White Sox SP Gavin Floyd dropped to 0-3 after allowing four runs in 4 1/3 innings against the Blue Jays.

  • White Sox OF Dayan Viciedo broke an 0-for-12 streak and 2-for-28 slump, including 11 strikeouts, with a broken-bat RBI single against Mark  Buehrle in the first inning Monday. Viciedo went 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI on the day.
  • Blue Jays 3B Maicer Izturis hit his first homer of the year off the White Sox's Gavin Floyd.

  • DH Adam Dunn went 0-for-3 with a HBP from the fifth spot in the White Sox lineup on Monday.

  • Tigers RP Jose Valverde struck out four over two perfect innings in an extended spring training game.

  • Red Sox 1B Mike Napoli clubbed a walk-off RBI double in a 3-2 Patriots' Day victory over the Rays.

  • 3B Evan Longoria slugged his first home run of the season in the Rays' loss to the Red Sox.

  • SP Ryan Dempster tossed seven innings of one-run ball Monday as the Red Sox defeated the visiting Rays.

  • Rays SP Jeremy Hellickson limited the Red Sox to two runs over seven innings Monday in a no-decision.

  • Red Sox RP Andrew Bailey blew a save Monday, allowing one run on two hits in the ninth inning against the Rays.

  • A's SP Tommy Milone moved to 3-0 with another quality start at Coliseum, limiting the Astros to two runs over 6 2/3 innings in the 11-2 victory.

  • Dodgers placed RHP Shawn Tolleson on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to April 13, with a lower back strain.

  • Mets RP Pedro Feliciano has officially joined High-A St. Lucie.

  • Giants activated 1B Brett Pill from the 15-day disabled list; optioned him to Triple-A Fresno.

  • Pirates recalled OF Alex Presley from Triple-A Indianapolis.

  • Pirates optioned RHP Phil Irwin to Triple-A Indianapolis.

  • Reds purchased the contract of RHP Justin Freeman from Triple-A Louisville.

  • Reds transferred OF Ryan Ludwick from the 15-day disabled list to the 60-day disabled list.

American League:
  • Twins have optioned Oswaldo Arcia to Triple-A to make room for Wilkin Ramirez who will be reinstated Tuesday upon his return from paternity leave.

  • Blue Jays placed RHP Sergio Santos on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to April 14, with a right tricep strain.

  • Mariners placed RHP Stephen Pryor on the 15-day disabled list with a right lat tear.

  • Blue Jays purchased the contract of RHP Ramon Ortiz from Triple-A Buffalo.

  • Blue Jays designated OF Casper Wells for assignment.

  • Indians transferred RHP Matt Albers from paternity leave to the family medical emergency list.

  • Indians acquired C Chris Wallace from the Astros for LHP Eric Berger; assigned him to Double-A Akron.

National League:

  • Nationals 3B Ryan Zimmerman is dealing with a cramp in his left hamstring.

  • Diamondbacks SS Didi Gregorius (elbow) is hitting .423 in 26 at-bats during his rehab assignment with Triple-A Reno.

  • Diamondbacks 2B Aaron Hill underwent an MRI on his left wrist Monday.

  • Pirates RP Kyle McPherson received an injection in his right elbow on Monday and will be shut down for the next two weeks.

  • According to Padres manager Bud Black, 3B Chase Headley could return as soon as Tuesday. Headley went 1-for-3 in his Monday rehab start for Class A Lake Elsinore. 
  • Mets RP Frank Francisco (elbow) will begin a rehab assignment on Tuesday at High-A St. Lucie.

  • Dodgers SP Ted Lilly (shoulder) will make his next rehab start with Triple-A Albuquerque on Tuesday.

  • Nationals 2B Danny Espinosa (hand) said on Monday that he hopes to be back on the field as soon as he can. He is aiming for Wednesday's series finale in Miami or, at the latest, Friday against the Mets

  • SP Shaun Marcum (neck) will not be ready to join the Mets' rotation this weekend.

  • Cubs 3B Ian Stewart (quad) was hitless in four at-bats in his second rehab game with Triple-A Iowa.

  • Cubs 2B Darwin Barney (knee) went 4-for-5 with a double in a rehab game with Triple-A Iowa.

  • Marlins OF Austin Kearns (irregular heartbeat) has been discharged from the hospital.

  • Reds SP Johnny Cueto expects to start throwing again in five or six days after suffering a strained right lat muscle in his back Saturday in Pittsburgh. He said Monday he could miss as few as two starts. “I don’t feel this is going to affect me at all,” Cueto said.

  • Pirates manager Clint Hurdle said Monday that 3B Brandon Inge (shoulder) could remain on his rehab assignment until it expires on April 24.

  • Braves SS Paul Janish (shoulder) is scheduled to begin a rehab assignment Monday night at Triple-A Gwinnett.

  • Braves C Brian McCann (shoulder) will begin catching in extended spring training games Wednesday or Thursday.

  • Michael Young (illness) went 1-for-4 with an RBI single in his return to the starting lineup Sunday.

  • Marlins OF Giancarlo Stanton will test out his ailing left shoulder with some swings prior to Tuesday's game.
American League:
  • Astros RP Paul Clemens left Monday's appearance with a right pinkie injury.

  • A's SS Hiroyuki Nakajima (hamstring) still needs to show he can run the bases before he's cleared to begin a rehab assignment.

  • White Sox SP Nestor Molina left Monday's start at Double-A Birmingham with a shoulder injury.

  • Blue Jays OF Jose Bautista (back) is expected to be back in the lineup Tuesday.

  • Twins RP Tim Wood (shoulder) will begin a rehab assignment with High-A Fort Myers on Tuesday.

  • The Twins hope SP Cole De Vries (forearm) will be able to throw off flat ground late this week and throw a light bullpen session early next week.
  • A's 2B Adam Rosales (intercostal) is close to beginning a rehab assignment.

  • A's OF Yoenis Cespedes is wearing a soft cast on his left hand but will do some running and throwing today. He won't do any hitting, however, until the hand is fully healed. 

  • Red Sox DH David Ortiz (heels) was scratched from Monday's rehab game for a second straight day.

  • Indians SP Scott Kazmir (abdomen) made his first rehab start with Triple-A Columbus on Monday. He went five innings, allowed one unearned run on five hits and no walks with five strikeouts.
  • Blue Jays SS Jose Reyes (ankle) is still expected to miss three months.

  • Blue Jays 3B Brett Lawrie (side) is expected to be activated from the disabled list Tuesday.
  • A's RP Jordan Norberto expects to miss about six weeks due to a left elbow strain.

  • Red Sox SP John Lackey (biceps) will resume throwing Tuesday.

  • Angels RP Ryan Madson (elbow) tossed a 40-pitch bullpen session on Sunday and reported feeling fine.
