I think you mean Zach Britton not Zach Wheeler as the replacement SP for Morales.

You're both wrong! It is actually Zach Stewart!

Yup it's Zach Stewart. I have to fix my autocorrect.

Should be all set now.

Yadier Molina may have passed the concussion test (post-game quote: "They did a bunch of tests. I was fine with the tests. There was no concussion. Just a really bad headache."), but that didn't stop the Cardinals from pulling caddy Bryan Anderson out of his AAA game and immediately launching him toward Pittsburgh, where he will be activated.

Agreed. Usually the symptoms are the worst immediately after the injury but symptoms can wax and wane.

Molina did reportedly pass another round of concussion tests and the headaches are gone but he still has the shoulder and back pain. This is probably the real reason why Bryan Anderson was called up.

Hey - Crawford is now a Dodger.

Yes I know. He's listed under the Red Sox to not penalize the Dodgers.

With the number of activations every year on 9/1 or 9/2 due to roster expansion (when a player could/should have been activated earlier), do you feel there is any need to revise any of the historical "days lost" counts by injury due to this date?
It may not have a real impact on averages, but I was just curious if saying "sprained thumb is 50 days" is really accurate if some of those thumbs could have been activated a few days earlier than they were, but for the expansion date, and really the actual average is more like 48.

Good points but it's going to be hard to tease out and may not ever be able to. Typically between 15 and 22 are activated on 9/1 and there are certainly a bunch that could activated a few days earlier.

It would be great to revise it but the difficulty is determining when the player was really ready. If we say the start of rehab assignments that's clearly not accurate, especially since we have seen several players aggravate their injuries.

While it may not be perfectly accurate, I think it's the best we have right now.

Appreciate the response. I'd have guessed the number activated would have more like double the 15-22, so a reduced volume would certainly make the extra work unneeded.

What's the prognosis for Teixeira returning to the lineup?

latest I've heard is about 1-2 weeks.
