Matt Holliday was hit by a pitch yesterday and didn't have another plate appearance. Was he hurt on the HBP? Thanks

From everything I see and hear, yes the HBP caused a contusion and the muscle tightened up on him a little bit. He might sit out today with the off day tomorrow.

It looks like Brett Anderson fell off the list, though he seems to be making steps towards returning. Any update on his status?

He had an update on Anderson yesterday (I've been curious about him too). Here's what he said: "Brett Anderson threw a 25-pitch live batting practice session on Friday and a three-inning simulated game yesterday. He handled both without any difficulties and is getting very close to starting a rehab assignment." It's odd that Anderson is not listed along with the other guys on the A's.

Thanks I think there's a bug in a script that is skipping players who were placed on the DL early in spring training. We're working on it but all the information is on the player cards.

Also, here's what the SF Chronicle had to say about him: http://blog.sfgate.com/athletics/2012/07/17/no-dl-for-crisp-anderson-mccarthy-braden-updates/ "Brett Anderson, just a year removed from Tommy John surgery, tells me that he’s going to Class-A Stockton on Saturday to start a rehab assignment; he’s likely to throw 45 pitches his first outing there, the same amount he threw in a three-inning simulated game yesterday. Anderson is likely to make three or four rehab starts, which means he would be back in Oakland’s rotation the second week of August."

Yup thanks. He's hitting all of his goals currently so he should be activated at that time.
