Family issues kept me from posting Monday's trots yesterday. There were 46 hit that day – the biggest day of the year, I believe – but I still had to go back and time then. The times are included below. Tuesday's home run haul was a little smaller, but it was still a pretty good day for taters.

Let's get to those trots!

Home Run of the Day: Mitch Moreland, Texas Rangers – 23.46 seconds [video]
This home run is from Monday, but I can't let it slip by. Watch the video. Now that is a home run. I'm pretty sure he just hit it out of Tropicana and all the way to Tampa. Pretty darn impressive.

Slowest Trot: David Ortiz, Boston Red Sox – 25.3 seconds [video]
No one should be surprised to see Big Papi here. We've all learned by now that, when he hits home runs, he tends to be the slowest trot. What might surprise us is Victor Martinez's 28.76 second trot [video] on Monday. Martinez is often one of the slowest of the day, but this is incredibly slow even for him.

Quickest Trot: Curtis Granderson, New York Yankees – 18.42 seconds [video]
Papi in the Slowest Trot spot and Granderson in the Quickest Trot spot. Very appropriate.

Granderson's time needs to be filled in. Since I'm posting anyway (love these btw), I've been wanting to ask what the stars beside some times mean. I'm sure it's said somewhere, but I've never noticed it.

Thanks. I'll fix that (you can see it below, though). The stars are an approximation, usually when the player's foot isn't on screen and I can't tell for sure which foot touched the plate. If I don't feel like I'm within 1-2 steps of accuracy, then I give the runner an N/A instead. I should probably put that somewhere, but I don't want to give the wrong impression by just saying "approximate time"...

FYI - Shelley Duncan's homer was on Tuesday, not Monday. Also of note - he became the 15th (?) guy to ever reach the 5th deck in the Rogers Centre with his tater.

Thanks. But I checked to make sure, and Duncan's homer was Monday... Escobar hit the only home run on Tuesday.

Johnson and Morneau's consistency is pretty awesome.
