For those of you out there getting an iPad — and at least two people I know of already — we'd like to let you know that BP is happy to welcome our new tablet overlords. From some testing, we know that:
* All BP pages render well and look great in the iPad's native Safari app.
* The new consolidated PECOTA cards look awesome.
* PFM works and has been used in at least one fantasy draft. I bet it was a heck of a distraction!
* Spreadsheets downloaded work in either the Numbers app, in read-only mode in Mail, or in Google Docs through Safari.
So what doesn't work? Not much, actually:
* Flash ads do not show up. They are an empty box. (For many, this is a feature, not a bug.)
* The BPR "bug" on the front page does not work. Again, it's Flash and we're looking into solutions. In the meantime, you can download BPR via iTunes and it should play on iPad.
* There's some question on how Team Tracker works on it. Until we have one in hand, we can't really be sure.
In summary, it appears that the iPad will be another great way to consume your favorite BP content. While there's no BP app, you can set the site to "Add To Home Screen" so you can get to your favorite baseball site quickly. I'll have a full review with screenshots later this week.

I have to admit I probably spend more time on my iPhone than on my laptop and consume more reading material on my iPhone than I do any other way save the old way - you know, books...
It seems BP has been slightly ahead of the curve in a lot of ways going back a bit, so it's vaguely surprising you all haven't been a bit more aggressive in this direction.
On the other hand, I have faith that BP is probably a bit smarter than I am and there are probably some pretty advanced thoughts going on about what the apps and all these technological etcs mean for content delivery and profitability.
Peace!
Suggestions for music apps beyond Pandora appreciated too. Thanks.
It's a compliment to both Apple and BP that (a) first thing I did this AM was get my IPad and 2nd thing I did was go to BP.
Site looks great. IPad is good so far too.
Will, good luck with the Louisville delivery. :)
A more streamlined option where upon loading you were presented with:
A: Across the top buttons for: Blogs/BP Unfiltered, Chat, Radio, MiL Update, Fantasy, Archives, etc. Clicking on any would take you to an overview page with headlines/leads for that category, or other relevant info (chat dates or stat glossary for example).
B: Headlines and leads of the day's main articles or perhaps past few days.
Just a thought, but I'm sure it would also be a lot of work leading to time taken away from the other great work you guys are doing with BP. Either way, love the site, mobile version or not!
Drew
That being said, BP.com was a bit slower than normal last week.
