Green’s Making Me Blue

by Will Carroll

With today’s health report came a flood of email. One of the best things about Unfiltered is the ability to fire out one response to what was more than 200 emails asking similar questions so —

1. “Why is _____ not listed?” There are two possible explanations. First, the player might be green. If he’s green and I don’t have a specific comment about him, I don’t list him. It saves me keystrokes and keeps my wrists off the DL. Second, he might not have been considered the starter. A guy like Ryan Doumit or Adam Melhuse comes under this and will be considered for the “catch-up” column that we’ll do at the end.

1a. “How do I know he’s green then?” We published a Master Spreadsheet yesterday in the intro. There will be a link to that in every article. Yes, you have to be subscriber to get the sheet and yes, we only have it in Excel.

2. “Why the colors?” They’re pretty. No, I’m not going to give out the percentages, the complete formula, and no, these aren’t negotiable. I hope everyone feels free to disagree, point out errors, and such, but you’re not going to get me to change a color just because it’s your team or your favorite player.

And for the third FAQ of the day, “no comment.” Those of you that have asked — and you are more than I expected — will understand.
