Through seven games, there’s not much to update with the two teams heading to the NLCS. The Phillies had a couple injuries during their series with the Rockies, but there should be no effect. Scott Eyre came back after what looked like a severe ankle sprain and showed no ill effects, while J.A. Happ took a comebacker and let the air of Colorado numb it a bit, missing no time. The Phillies aren’t taking Brett Myers to the NLCS, but that was a roster decision and not an injury-fueled one. Instead, they’re going with Chan Ho Park, who’s hamstring is healing up.
The Dodgers shuffled their roster due to the availability of Hiroki Kuroda. His neck has healed up enough for him to take the spot of Chad Billingsley, who moves to the pen. The rotation of Clayton Kershaw, Vicente Padilla, Kuroda, and Randy Wolf is an interesting set, especially if this goes six or seven. As with the Phillies, none of the position players of the Dodgers have any significant injuries. There is some flu going through the clubhouse, so that could create some havoc if there’s unavailable players.
