The tater trots for April 2: Yu Darvish's near-perfect night, Pete Kozma might cause a divorce.

Only the second full day of the season and we've already had a near-perfect game. Against the Astros no less. If this kind of thing keeps up, 2013 could be a very exciting year.

The tater trot times for Opening Day, including two special days from Clayton Kershaw and Bryce Harper.

Opening Day is finally in the books and the 2013 season is underway! What a long cold (and then warm and then cold again) winter it has been. But spring is finally in the air and baseball is on our doorstep for the next six-plus months. Can't complain about that.

The tater trots for Game 1 of the 2012 World Series, including Pablo Sandoval's three home runs.

After the Giants and Cardinals combined for two home runs over their final three games of the National League Championship Series (with two of those games played in San Francisco), it was a bit hard to predict a home run barrage in Game 1 of the World Series. Especially with the Tigers throwing Justin Verlander.

The tater trots from this week's LCS games. There haven't been many.

In a week full of League Championship Series games (and rainouts), there have been few home runs. In fact, in all games played Monday through Wednesday, there were a total of four home runs hit. The playoffs weren't exactly screaming for the Tater Trot Tracker this week. Things were better on Thursday, when the Tigers finished their four-game sweep of the Yankees and the Cardinals put themselves one game from the pennant with an 8-3 victory of San Francisco. The six home runs hit in Thursday's games more than double the homers hit the rest of the week. Thank God.

The tater trots for the first LCS weekend, including Game 5's from Friday. Bryce Harper comes through with the fastest tater trot recorded in the postseason.

When last we saw the Tater Trot Tracker, we still thought the Orioles and Nationals had a chance at meeting in the World Series. Two games and one incredible comeback later, both teams are eliminated - and now, after two more games in the Bronx, some are even wondering if the Yankees have a shot at the title.

The tater trots for October 1: Miguel Cabrera closes the refrigerator door...

It was a busy, busy weekend. On Friday, Bobby Abreu set the Tater Trot Tracker record for slowest non-injury-related trot. Then, on Saturday, Michael Morse set a record of his own, with one of the most bizarre grand slam trots you'll ever see. Morse's trot is also (likely) the longest trot by distance-traveled you or I have ever seen.

The trot times for Sept. 28, when Bobby Abreu has the slowest non-injury related trot recorded.

Apologies for the missing Tater Trot Tracker the last few days. The real world got pretty busy there for a few days. Luckily, it's a great day to return to the tracker because...

The tater trots for September 23. Geovany Soto and Brendan Ryan find themselves on the outside looking in - but just barely.

In last night's Emmy Awards, both Jake Taylor and Crash Davis won awards. It's not everyday you see retiring catchers making waves in Hollywood. Good for them.

The tater trots for September 21: Darwin Barney makes things difficult for the Cardinals, Adam Eaton joins the top ten.

It's the last weekend of summer and there's no time to waste. Let's get to the trots!

The tater trots for September 19: big nights for Adam Jones, Matt Kemp and Ryan Howard, Miguel Cabrera marches towards the Triple Crown.

Three rainouts on Tuesday meant that we had a couple of doubleheaders last night. Overall, there were 17 games played around the league - and only 21 home runs hit. I think that means we're getting into the cold and soggy parts of the season.

The tater trots for September 17: the Pirates and Cubs play a late game, Dan Uggla blasts a bomb in Miami.

The Pirates played the Cubs last night in Chicago. And this morning. The 7pm game was delayed by rain until nearly 10:45pm and didn't end until 1:30am. Sadly, there were no home runs for the roughly 1,000 fans who watched the game to chase. Foul balls were easy prey, however. Sometime after they won the game, the Pirates flew back to Pittsburgh to face the Brewers tonight. Ah, the life of a potential playoff team can be difficult in September!

The tater trots from September 16 (and the weekend). Anthony Rizzo spoiled the Pirates day in a big way, Ryan Braun had his own big day.

After yesterday's games, there are now exactly two weekends of regular season baseball left. And, lucky for us, things are just now getting really interesting! With the recent poor play by Pittsburgh, Los Angeles, and St. Louis, we are on the verge of seeing three possible playoff teams choke in the final month of the season. Of course, a lot can happen in 17 games...
