Fear not, loyal listeners, for we have returned. We took a week off to take care of some important things in life, like buying a house and going on a road trip. We’re back and this week is chock full of content around some listener questions. In fact, if you wanted to make a drinking game out of this episode, be forewarned that the word “questions” is uttered rather frequently.

This week, we cover Scoresheet defense in greater detail than ever before, touching on some more advanced defensive topics at the request of several listeners. We call on Baseball Prospectus co-founder and longtime Scoresheet player Gary Huckabay for some pointers. Gary tells us his background in Scoresheet, helps explain defense in more detail, and gives some advanced strategic suggestions, before convincing us that he invented every great Scoresheet innovation of the past few decades. Find out what Scoresheet owners are and more!
Also, do you play in a private league? We're looking to hear your weirdest house Scoresheet rules. Send them to us, along with any other questions that you may have, at firstname.lastname@example.org, and we'll share some of the best on our next podcast.

The results are below, and you can tune in and listen as we go through the draft picks and offer thoughts. We also review the best things we saw this week, and nobody picked a no hitter or a trade. Listen in to find out what our highlights were.

The Outcomes review MLB teams' performances to date and draft their own teams.
Happy Fourth of July! We’re mixing it up a bit this week and going through the MLB teams, talking about the surging Orioles (team of destiny!) and why nobody wants to root for the Royals any more. We draft all 30 teams trying to get the most victories at the end of the season, and one of the Outcomes has a peculiar strategy in place. Tune in to see which one!
The Outcomes discuss players you ought to buy and sell in trades based on your Scoresheet roster needs.
On the Podcast:
We’re revisiting another one of our monthly topics: trade candidates. We cover both leagues, giving you several ideas for which guys to buy and sell—and, more importantly, we walk through the reasons why we pick each player so you can apply those to your roster.
The Outcomes share their round 40 Scoresheet draft rankings.
Welcome, friends, to the most exciting week of the Scoresheet summer calendar! Yes, even after Christopher Crawford has recovered from his draft-induced PTSD, and the remains of Studio 42 have been mothballed in Secaucus’s most beautiful closet for another year, Scoresheet owners remain in the grip of draft fever. Round 40 is when most top draft picks are selected, and teams who have been out of it for most or all of the year have one brief moment of joy before going back to figuring out where to set the hook on Jerome Williams.
Listener emails and the best things the Outcomes saw in an eventful sports week.
As questions from listeners and readers keep coming in, we keep trying to answer them. We love hearing from all of you, so keep it up!
Last week we answered several reader questions that were shorter form or more conceptual. This week, we tackle three specific teams and offer trade advice and guidance for the rest of the season about how to handle the various levels of success that come in different phases of the competitive cycle. We also cover the best things we saw in an extremely eventful week for sports.
Reader questions, notable player performances, and much more.
More listener questions this week, thanks to all the great submissions over the past couple of weeks. We also walk through each of the MLB teams to do a June check up on the bets that Jared and Ben made, as a means for anecdotes and commentary on notable player performances or team situations.
