Nick Longhi (1B/OF/LHP), out of Venice High School (Venice, FL), is a pure hitter with early-round upside. Longhi’s compact and impactful stroke is geared to spraying linedrives from gap to gap, with enough emerging power for him to project to a corner without issue. Defensively, Longhi likely fits best at first base due to his well below-average footspeed. He could get the opportunity to play both ways if he forgoes the start of his pro career and tackles college ball, as a workable arm on the mound that has reached 91 in the past. Today’s video is from the 2013 Perfect Game World Showcase, held at Terry Park in Ft. Myers, Florida. Longhi is an LSU commit and plays for the FTB Mizuno travel squad.
