Notes on prospects playing abroad, including the Braves' Joey Terdoslavich and the Diamondbacks' Ender Inciarte.

Hitter of the Night

Joey Terdoslavich, 1B, Braves (Aguilas Cibaenas, DWL): 4-5, K. Terdoslavich continues a solid winter with a great showing in the Dominican playoffs. He’s not a high-end prospect, but I believe in the bat if used properly, and he should be on a veteran-laden Braves team that doesn’t need him to start.

Notes on prospects playing abroad, including White Sox infielder Leury Garcia and Red Sox shortstop Heiker Meneses.

The Good

Leury Garcia, INF, White Sox (Gigantes del Cibao, DWL): 1-3. Garcia probably won’t hit enough to play every day and has virtually no power to speak of, but his versatility could make him a solid utility man, perhaps as soon as this year. Notes on eight prospects, including Braves outfielder Joey Terdoslavich and Phillies third baseman Maikel Franco.

Prospect of the Day: Joey Terdoslavich, LF, Braves (Toros del Este, DWL): 3-4, 2B, 3B, K. International league rosters are in constant flux, and Terdoslavich was a late addition to the Toros. He went 3-4 in his first game, showing the extra-base power that makes him an attractive bench option for the Braves. He won’t be playing first base (his natural position) for them any time soon, but he’s playing the outfield this winter to gain more experience at his new secondary position.
