The tater trots for September 17: Curtis Granderson join the 40 homer club while helping Mariano Rivera join a much more exclusive club.

Where did summer go? The calendar still says there's four days left of summer, but you wouldn't know it by the weather. Thankfully, the boys of summer play on through these weird pseudo-falls and all the way into October. Weather aside, it's a great time of year.

It's always an odd day when the whole league seems to decide to take the day off from hitting home runs together. On Sunday, with fifteen games being played, home runs were hit in only eight of them. Going through the list of games and seeing "HR: none" one after the other is strange.
