Can't seem to find a video clip online, but you should check out the end of the 1977 World Series. In the 9th inning of Game 6, Reggie Jackson — who hit three home runs that day — called timeout from right field, ran all the way to the dugout and got a BATTING HELMET to wear on defense in preparation of the out-of-control fans rioting on the field. As soon as the game ended, Reggie and the other players took off on a dead sprint toward the dugout. He memorably delivered a brutal forearm to at least one unruly fan on his way off the field. Here's a grainy photo: http://www.chud.com/nextraimages/yanksdvd1.jpg Arguably the most intense World Series "celebration" I've ever seen.

Good stuff, Hudson. Would be fascinating to see more major leaguers from new countries in the near-future. Nitpicking: It's CARRIE Muskat, not Cary.

Good stuff, Larry. FYI, there are a bunch of old baseball books for free download at OpenLibrary.org. Scroll down to the fourth item here ("Holiday reading: Get your free e-books") and I pulled out a few interesting titles: http://sabr.org/latest/week-sabr-december-21-2011

Fay Vincent has written a couple of these oral histories: http://www.amazon.com/We-Would-Have-Played-Nothing/dp/B002RAR2OS/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1327604829&sr=8-1 http://www.amazon.com/Only-Baseball-History-Project-ebook/dp/B000GCFD1I/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1327604866&sr=8-2 Nothing will beat "The Glory of Their Times," of course, but they're pretty interesting.
