I feel like Cole must be working on something new or something that the Pirates want him to. The drop in K rate is so great there has to be something else going on. Whats interesting is that his ERA is the lowest its been in his pro career, and his FIP is the highest.

I'm not sure how not hitting HR's should ding him if thats not his game- as you stated, he has gap power, so while he won't hit many HR's, he'll hit tons of doubles and is a threat for a triple anytime he hits a double. If he had HR power he would be the best prospect in the game. What his game is now is one of the most, if not the most, unique prospect in a loooong time. If that speed makes that 5+ hit tool play to a 6, and he keeps the batting eye, he's a potential MVP candidate to me.

Way bigger fan then Kipnis then this. I am willing to bet he outperforms his ADP by a good amount.

This article would be better with some info on how they were doing in spring training.

This is one of the most meaningless points I've ever read. Imagine if they traded Verlander? Contending has not stopped the Rays, Rangers, Cardinals and so on from developing a system. Imagine the Yanks traded Cano or CC! Totally meaningless.

Any chance you'll address the Brewers bullpen?

The only issue here is that the O's have basically flat out said he will NEVER throw his cutter. How much does he ceiling get dinged if he doesn't throw his cutter?

Last week Myers was .321/.394/.750 (9-for-28), 5 R, 4 HR, 13 RBIs, 4 BB, 10 SO. Thats struggling of late?

Agreed- Wieters is one of the best defensive and offensive catchers in the league. He hasn't lived up to the hype YET but he's only 26 this may so still has plenty of time. I never knew turning into one of the best players at your position=bust like it gets thrown around. On top of that, I still strongly believe he has a better career then Posey.

Whats crazy about Matzek throwing 92-95 is he also switched to throwing righty! He's like Venditte with great stuff now!

Just want to comment on Phil Rizzuto- as a kid, he was baseball to me. Growing up in NY in the 80s, Phil was like your grandfather, you just loved to hear his voice. He was the summer. Totally agree with KG here- he is as much a piece of Yankee lore as Ruth, Mantle, Jeter and so on.

Tim Beckham is having a bounceback season. If he kept this up all year, does he become a 5 star guy with his draft pedigree? How is the defense?

I can't believe Silver Surfer was listed so low, who was the scout for the Marvel article? Clearly East Coast bias.

Pretty cool to possibly have the worst(or one of the) systems of all time and the best in the same year!

With a few more AA starts like this, Betances cracks my top 25. Probably my favorite prospect right now.

Love Marooners great and true statement. Players like Mariano Rivera are true baseball immortals. I don't need sabermetrics to explain Albert Pujols- #'s explain the greatness of say, Mark Texiera, but Albert Pujols is in a dimension of his own. As incredible as some of Mariano's #'s are, the only way to understand his true dominance is by watching him and marveling. Numbers are there to put into context the rest of the guys.

The man is hitting a HR every 7.26 AB's and 9.3 PA's. His ISOP is .504. Insane. This is better then Heyward's AA run.

ah poor poor mets fans. you guys are like Charlie Brown, you keep going to kick that football even though you KNOW the balls going to be pulled away from you. That top 10 25 and under is horrendous. You think they're gonna graduate 7 or 8 guys? First off, if they graduate 7 or 8 guys it just shows how horrible they're major league roster is right now. Second off, there is NO team who will graduate 7 or 8 quality major leaguers from their top 11 list right now. none, and certainly not the mets.
