I believe you mean Greg Maddux preferred Eddie Perez catching him rather than Javy Lopez seeing how Eddie was Maddux's personal catcher for most of the years Maddux played for the Braves.

In addition to being sufficiently interested in 25-50, I am also curious about 20-24.

I like how Wilson's poor command of the strike zone was the fault of bad umpires, but the umpires completely missing the fact that Infante stayed on the back is completely glossed over.

I think he might mean basketball. There's a rule in basketball where if a player leaves the bench it's an automatic one game suspension. Amare Stoudemire was suspended for leaving the bench during a playoff game after Steve Nash was checked into the stands by Robert Horry during the last seconds.

Craig Kimbrel often has no idea whatsoever where the ball is going so it's pretty understandable why the Braves are letting him work on his control in games that don't matter, rather than in the middle of a playoff race.

Wasn't Neftali Feliz signed by the Braves?

I look like a dork wearing my helmet when I ride my bicycle, but I still do it. You know why? Because I value my brain and would rather not suffer permanent brain damage. You would hope that someone who makes millions playing baseball would feel the same way.

The Braves already have a surplus of AAA arms in waiting as well as Kris Medlen who put up decent numbers as a rookie last year and will be available for spot starts this year.

In 5 years almost nobody will remember if Alomar got in on his first or second ballot. The distinction is practically meaningless, and is a pretty dumb way to measure how HoF worthy someone is.

Halladay will be 36 years old when he comes for a new contract. I sincerely doubt that anybody will be lining up to give him another 60-80 million.

I'm not sure how much his pitch per appearance can be attributed to Kelly Johnson, and how much is the Braves asking him to be "more aggressive"

Yeah, but he didn't watch until after he voted so it was basically a pointless exercise

It's not that there was a problem with the amount of times Cox used his relievers, it's that he repeatedly used BOTH Gonzalez and Soriano when the Braves were up by 3+ runs.

How do you explain A-Rod doing really well in this postseason compared to the previous couple of years?

Getting hit in the skull with a baseball is somewhat a freak accident. You can't really blame Carroll for not foreseeing that.

Anyone looking at the Mets objectively this offseason could tell that they had absolutely no pitching besides Santana. If you're planning on relying on John Maine or Oliver Perez to be your #2 starter, you're going to have problems, regardless of how many runs you can score.

I suspect he's mainly referring to 2007-8 when the Braves starting pitching was pretty bad.

yes, squashing opposition groups and shutting down media outlets that are unfriendly to you are all hallmarks of democracy. It might have started out as a democracy, but it's certainly not that anymore.

Replacing a hole in your roster by creating another hole is rarely a good idea. It\'s an even worse idea when there\'s a fairly big market for FA starting pitchers, and a relatively small one for shortstops.
