3/4 arm slot with a deliberate drop and drive delivery. Arm action is really quick and he creates a nice plane with his upper body. Really polished delivery for his age.
Kane County Cougars (Low A, D-backs)
No. 3 starter
Command: Plus. Movement: Has some life and arm side run.
Notes: He can move this pitch around the zone and hits the mitt when he needs to. Showed some two seam action a few times.
Command: Fringy. Movement: 10-4 with hard bite and snap when he gets on top of it. It's a hammer.
Notes: Both times I've seen him he developed a feel for the Curve as his outing progressed. He starts out loopy with it as it stays high in the zone without much snap. When the feel comes around it's got plus action and is just nasty down in the zone.
Command: Below Average. Movement: Flashes some fade
Notes: Pitch needs work. Arm angle is identical to the fastball and it flashed really good movement down in the zone.
When Tseng hits his stride he can hit 92 on the black with some action, drop a sharp breaking ball that will induce swings and misses down in the zone and throw a change with arm action that mirrors the fastball that fades in on RHB.
He has a solid frame that can still add a few good pounds and creates a nice plane to the plate with his delivery. He's got pitchability as well, shows a feel for sequencing and understands where to throw his pitches.
Even though he's polished for his age there's still a lot of projection in the arm.
